I double dare you to watch this whole video and not smile. And tap your feet, or hands, or maybe even get up and start jigging at the computer. 🙂 Brilliant and creative use of rhythm by the Kilfenora Ceili Band and Michael Donnellan. By the time the dancing started I was laughing out loud at the wonderfulness of it all. Have an inspired and creative weekend. Slainte, Lisa

Not One Forgotten
I used to want to be famous. Someone who would sing up on a big stage, record albums every other year and then go out on tour. I thought this was the epitome of happiness and fulfillment in life. I went after this goal for many years, but one day, I realized that I was already happy. I had a husband who loved me, a child who was a delight, a home. I had a God who never forgets me or overlooks what I say. To God, I am infinitely important. Every so often the “man, I wish I had been a big famous singer”thought will bite again, but it passes, because I am so blessed. Singing at my piano in my family room, with the immense and awesome audience of God, is the best.
“Not one is missing, not one forgotten. God the Father has his eye on each of you…” – 1 Peter 1:1 Message
Be encouraged….to God you are a superstar. 🙂 Lisa
True, Noble, Lovely
“Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.” – Philippians 4:8
There are a lot of yucky, depressing, ugly and scary things in the world that try to steal my attention and terrify me. It can happen by reading the news, watching TV, going to Walmart, even by revisiting things in your past that you’re not proud of. But in Christ, I am a new creation, the old is past, the new has come. He wants me to keep my eyes on Him, on the true and noble and lovely things that He has made and that are to come. Like my dog when he’s cuddled up in his bed, looking like a big stuffed animal. Like hugs from my sweet children who call me Mommy. Like a kiss at the end of a hard day from the handsome man who loves me and married me. Like a phone call from my parents, talking over life and realizing that we are so blessed. The sun in the morning, a beautiful moon at night, fireflies outside my window. True, noble, lovely. Be blessed today, Lisa
Love, The 50th Edition
“Love is a many splendored thing.” That song title is a great description of the 50 years of marriage and love that my parents have shared together. Growing up and watching my parents, I learned what true love was supposed to look like. I remember them dancing in the living room after supper; part of me loved it, part of me was like, “Come on, Mom & Dad…parents aren’t supposed to actually kiss or anything.” 😉 But most of me was so happy that they were happy, and I knew that I wanted to find a love like that one day. And happy ending…I did.
So here’s to two of my very best friends, my parents, on their 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow. May your love continue to shine for many, many more years, because we all love to see the glow. Love, Lisa
Journeys and Adventures
Have you ever packed a suitcase when you didn’t know where you were headed? Have you ever taken off on a car trip without planning your final destination, just drove and drove until you stopped? I have, and hope to again someday. It is a remarkably untamed, unplanned, and unpredictable feeling of an adventure. Scary at the outset if you are a planner, but sometimes just what we humans need to let go of control a little.
One day, when God calls me home at a time when He knows is best, I will be headed off on one of those grand adventures, not really sure what it will be like, but definitely sure that if Jesus is there, it will be amazingly great. And until that time, life is such a gift, and I’m going to try to love, and encourage, and enjoy, and see, and treasure as much as I can with God’s grace.
“You’re packing a suitcase for a place none of us has seen;
A place that has to be believed to be seen…
Walk on, walk on…what you got, they can’t deny it, can’t sell it or buy it…..walk on.”
(“Walk On,” U2, All That You Can’t Leave Behind)
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9
May God bless all of your life’s journeys and adventures with His love and mercy. Slainte, Lisa
