I love winter at the ocean. Yes, it can be cold and windy, but the beach is empty and ours for just a little while. Except for the birds who love it all year round. This little guy was chilling out by the waves (almost looks like he’s napping), and then showed off his amazing flying skills to the camera.

What is it about a tree that makes us feel so protected and sheltered? Standing next to a tree, even when I was a little girl, I feel better. I love to lean up against the strong trunks and gaze up into the lofty green leaves with sunlight diffusing through them. 
So today, with Thanksgiving coming up tomorrow, I want to thank God the amazing Creator for all the beauty He made….trees, leaves, oceans, skies of all varieties, the wind on my face. I am thankful for all of this and more, because when I see and feel these things, it feels like He’s right here, always. Blessings, Lisa
The Jolly Roger Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills, NC is a great beach restaurant. Not only do they have awesome food, but you get to hang out with their resident pirates and flying horse. If you’re ever in the area, check it out!
