Making and Fixing

BancoWe live in a small rural village in Virginia.  Close to the mountains with farmland and foothills all around us.  Yesterday our little corner of the world was bustling with activity.  The three doors down artist was outside in his field with easel and paints, capturing green fields and children playing.  The two doors down mechanics were changing huge tires on an even bigger tractor.  The next door cabinetmaker was creating new custom furniture from old beautiful wood.  And me?  Well, I was teaching students how to make music the best I could…sculpting and shaping their notes into phrases that communicate something, hopefully something beautiful.  Making, fixing, creating….it made me grateful for the neighbors, for their amazing work ethic, for how they find joy and fulfillment in what they do.  And it made me grateful that we are all made in God’s image….creating is what He does and continues to do every day.  He’s making new people, fixing old ones, and creating beautiful things everywhere you go.  And that is something to smile about.  :)Slainte, Lisa

Do You Remember?

Do you remember this feeling?

Or how about this one?

Find one reason today to feel like that again.

Some ideas to get you started if you’re feeling sleepy this morning:

…When you’re outside, and the mood hits you, twirl in the grass, or take your shoes off, or sing, or all of the above.

…When you take a walk, pretend you’re trekking to China with pirates chasing you, and who knows? there might be treasure along the way.  Keep an eye out!

…Get in the water and make a giant water suction bubble with your hands under the water.  Do it again.

…Pick up a pretty rock you see, and then look for another one.  Start a new rock collection just for the day.

…Pick a flower and really look at it and breathe deeply.  Spring is here!

Blessings to you, Lisa

Look!  God is with you, where you are.  All the beautiful things around you are Him saying, “I’m here…I love you.”  🙂  Blessings, Lisa

I say no, to all of the above.  The essence of what something is does not change based on changing circumstances.  Our family’s favorite expression is “It is what it is.”  That can be used to express that you can’t fight against what you can’t change.  But it also can be used to say that what God created something to be is what it basically is.  Although the thing/person can change and adapt to changes, and with God’s help, keep living life in abundance.

Rejoice in who you are, right now, with whatever God’s given you.  You are special and just right in His eyes.  Blessings, Lisa
