The Sheep Came….And Stayed

DSCN1642
These five sheep came to rest on my mantle a few years ago. Our family has a great time moving them around into various sheep vignettes for our entertainment. (And for the sheep to have a change of scenery of course) When the manger scene came out of the box a few weeks ago, I thought about putting them away for the season. Mainly because if Mary and Joseph were this big and saw these huge sheep coming to worship, they would run for their lives! 🙂 But the sheep stayed, and so it is. And I’m not sure why, but things like this make me laugh. And that is a very good thing. Slainte, Lisa

Boundless Hope Dressed in Everyday Clothes

Ireland 2_0028

One reason that I love photographs is that they frame life in beautiful, small, graspable visions.  Putting the usual in the lens in an unusual or lovely way.  Seeing what we think of as ordinary and making it extraordinary.  We know that we are surrounded by beauty and joy, but seeing it captured on camera immortalizes it somehow, helps it to stay fixed and perfect in our minds.  Hope and joy are around us everywhere; we just have to be able to recognize them in their everyday clothes.  Slainte, Lisa

The Way It Looks

Lisa at Kells

The old priory wall is tall; I am not.  In fact, I look positively wee in comparison.  Which I say with a certain amount of glee, as I’ve never considered myself wee at any point!  🙂

My Christmas to-do list is huge; my time and energy is not.  But is getting it all done really the point?

Life is here and now, and seems big.  But eternity with God lasts forever, and from what I’ve read, sounds amazingly stress-free and joyful.  And when I’m there, looking back, this will all seem wee.

If I am safe in the palm of God’s hand, how safe am I?

Shielded, loved, guided, prayed over, healed, saved.

Very.

I pray that for each of you.  Blessings, Lisa
