Being on a Break

A sheep on a break

Taking a break from blogging is nice sometimes, just to give your brain a rest for a few days.  But coming back from the blog break is hard.  That first blog back…what to say, what picture to use, how to be somewhat witty again.  It’s like my brain got stuffed with turkey along with the rest of me.  So this is what you have….the official first blog back from the break is a blog about coming back from a break.  Brilliant.  🙂

Hope all of you are recovering nicely from your Thanksgiving holidays, and getting back into the day-to-day with as much ease as possible.  Or maybe just kick back in your chair like this sheep here and try again tomorrow.  🙂    Slainte, Lisa

Love Is….

Love is patient, love is kind…

Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Love is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered.

Love does not rejoice in evil but rejoices in the truth.

Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

-1 Corinthians 13:4-8

My prayer for this week is that God will allow me to love just a fraction of the amount that He does.  Because that’s a whole lot.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

Sheep Talk, Or We Will Be Gathered

We are going to be gathered…into the beauty that is Ireland in 2013.  🙂  Ed & I have been saving for our 25th anniversary next year.  At first we thought that we should visit some other beautiful parts of the world, like Italy or the Greek Islands.  But the pull was great, and the parts of Ireland that we’ve never seen were greater still, and we knew there was nowhere else we’d rather be. So we’re going back to check out the Northwest…Sligo, Donegal and a few places inland that we’ve yet to explore.  So if any of you locals know of some great places to see, please chime in!

I dearly hope that we have a sheep experience like this one…I laughed so hard watch these sheep run down the hill towards his car.  Enjoy watching these beautiful creatures attempt to see if this guy has any food.  (It’s either that, or the sheep are training for the big marathon. 🙂 )  Slainte, Lisa

Two Sheep

Here are two lovely sheep, one which is all white, and one with a black face.  Although I feel that the white sheep is nice looking and exceedingly content in eating her grass, my preference is definitely for the black-faced sheep.  I love contrast, and the black and white together is wonderful.  I also love that these two sheep are hanging out together, oblivious to their differences.  (And, so into their dinner that they don’t mind a close-up photograph :))

The contrasts in this life make life so much more rich and full.  A brilliant sun breaking through a cloudy day.  A beautiful voice singing as they stock the shelves in Walmart.  A yellow apple in the midst of all the red ones.  The first shoots of green grass re-emerging after the winter amidst the brown.  An unexpected hug coming in the midst of a hard day.

May your day have beautiful contrasts and differences and quirks.  Enjoy them! Slainte, Lisa
