I say no, to all of the above.  The essence of what something is does not change based on changing circumstances.  Our family’s favorite expression is “It is what it is.”  That can be used to express that you can’t fight against what you can’t change.  But it also can be used to say that what God created something to be is what it basically is.  Although the thing/person can change and adapt to changes, and with God’s help, keep living life in abundance.

Rejoice in who you are, right now, with whatever God’s given you.  You are special and just right in His eyes.  Blessings, Lisa

“How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you. ”         – Psalm 139: 17-18

Rejoice in the wonder and joy of it all.  Blessings, Lisa

Contented He’ll Remain

Ever yearn for greener pastures, for things you don’t have, for something different?  We all do sometimes if we’re honest with ourselves.  But in reality, the something different isn’t always what we imagine it to be.  Many different song lyrics come into my mind right now…”What you don’t have, you don’t need it now…”  “But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need….” and so on.  (Disclaimer:  For those of you who know me, don’t worry…I haven’t been thinking about running away.  🙂  )

Being content and grateful for what’s right around us; a great gift from God.  Here is my very favorite Cara Dillon trad cover of “Spencer the Rover” which illustrates the story of a man who went through hard times, left home, but then dreamed of his family and friends.  He missed them greatly, and returned realizing that they were what he needed all along.  “Contented he’ll remain, and not ramble away.”  Enjoy her wonderful vocals, and her husband Sam Lakeman’s amazing piano playing.  Blessings, Lisa

summer strength

I love this quote.  Strength, hope, future.  And that strength, hope and future lies in God.  He will not let me go, and He won’t let you go either.  Rest in that today.  Slainte, Lisa
