Canopies of Green

DSCN1180

What is it about a tree that makes us feel so protected and sheltered?  Standing next to a tree, even when I was a little girl, I feel better.  I love to lean up against the strong trunks and gaze up into the lofty green leaves with sunlight diffusing through them. DSCN1232

So today, with Thanksgiving coming up tomorrow, I want to thank God the amazing Creator for all the beauty He made….trees, leaves, oceans, skies of all varieties, the wind on my face.  I am thankful for all of this and more, because when I see and feel these things, it feels like He’s right here, always.  Blessings, Lisa

Seymour Sycamore

DSCN1449

Seymour Sycamore is big, really big.  Some might call him a giant.  He’s not really a sycamore tree, but that’s beside the point.  That’s what we called him when we bought our house, and any other name for him just seems wrong now.  He is old, older than our 1927 house, and he stands guard closely.  He provides shade in the hot summer and a sturdy branch for our children’s swing.  He could be a she; not really sure about these tree kind of things.  You arborists out there might say he’s an “it”, but he is too much a part of our everyday lives for me to do that.

The point?  None really, except to enjoy those little (or big) things that are around you.  Blessings from God that are all around us, if we look.  Slainte, Lisa

Mountain in Song

Killarney Lake

“Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth;  burst into song, O mountains!  For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion.”  ~Isaiah 49:13

What is singing in your corner of the world this morning?  Maybe the tree that is using red, orange, and yellow as his notes of song.  Maybe the green grass under your feet is shouting, “Glorious day!”  Maybe the sky and the clouds are playing with blues and whites and grays, creating a beautiful artwork of this very moment.  Go ahead and add to their beauty with a song or big shout of your own!   Slainte, Lisa
