Time and Eternity

Time is precious; time is fleeting.  Some days go quickly, while others drag on.  Yet the sum of life is short.  But before you get too morose in reading this, there is an answer to this, there is more to our story.  “He has made everything beautiful in its time.  God has also set eternity in the hearts of men.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:11a)  and better yet….

Jesus said to her(Martha):  “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?”  (John 11:25-26)

What about you?  What do you think?  Do Jesus’ words make you happy and want to dance, or does this freak you out because you don’t want to hear it or believe it?  If its the second choice, just sit on it awhile, don’t make a quick decision.  Because He loves you so much, even if you don’t always feel it.  He wants to give you a hope for your future…an endless future with no ending and eternal joy and peace.  A future where you don’t have to be afraid ever again.  Slainte, Lisa

Light

In all these photographs, I am drawn to the light.  I want to be in the green place, the place with sunlight warming my skin, the place where I can see clearly.  When a child or any of us feel afraid, we are drawn to put on a light, and it calms us.

“Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you.  The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.  Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light.” – Jesus, John 12:35b-36

“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” – Jesus, John 12:46

“I am the light of the world.” – Jesus, John 9:5b

“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”  -John 1:4-5

Run to the Light, and don’t look back.  Slainte, Lisa

Greatest Love Ever

An amazing carving of Jesus at the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary.

“Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” – Jesus  (John 15:12-13)

I’m so thankful for this amazing love and grace.  Have a blessed weekend.

Stones Crying Out

Stones are everywhere in Ireland.  Special ones, not so special ones.  Remnants of some great castle, and remnants of simple cottages.  Stones on the edge of a great sea cliff, and stones gathered throughout fields to contain the sheep and cattle.  The Burren is so filled with stones that you cannot walk two inches without stepping on one.

I have been listening this morning to U2’s “Gloria” and “Rejoice”.  Crying out in praise to God, making the choice to praise.  It reminds me of the passage where Jesus is talking to all those religious leaders.  The leaders are upset because His followers are praising God loudly for all His miracles that they had seen.  Jesus says, “I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”  (Luke 19:40)

The stones in this picture of Mizen Head are definitely crying out to God in their stark beauty.  And I want to do the same.  Slainte, Lisa

In the Mist

In the mist, there’s an island…

An island where there are flowers and rocks and life…

Within that life, there is love…

And in that love, there is Jesus.

Look through the mist of your life; sometimes things look very foggy and dim, but ahead there is love and life and Jesus.  Slainte, Lisa
