Exploring

IMG_3173

One of the cool things about kids is the way they explore a new place.  They don’t just casually stroll, commenting wisely on the architecture and historical significance; they crawl, climb, touch, jump, and experience. IMG_3168

Always fun (and slightly exhausting!  🙂  ) to watch.  And always a prod for me to see and touch and experience more right along with them.  Today I’m going to try to find at least one new thing to explore!  Blessings to all of you, Lisa

Adventures Await

100_1609

Reencaheragh Strand, Portmagee

Another weekend is upon us.  The weekend before Thanksgiving, no less!  The question is….will I succumb to the frantic running about that seems to be inherent to this time of year, or will I try really hard to just breathe, and look at the sky, do what needs doing but no more, and enjoy the beauty and adventure of the day?  As a wife and mom, I definitely feel the pressure of “Oh no, I have done NO Christmas shopping yet!”  and “I really must get ready for the Thanksgiving car trip to family’s home”.  But there is another side of me this year that is resisting…a side that just wants to enjoy what’s right here, right now and not worry so much about what’s way ahead of me.  Because I feel that I’m missing so much of the now.  So right NOW I’m going to look at this picture for awhile, the sea, the rocks, the look of “what am I going to do first” on my children’s faces as they go down the ramp to the beach.  And then, well, who knows?  I will see what the day brings.  Enjoy every single adventure that your weekend holds for you.  Blessings, Lisa

Sunny Vs. Soft Day

Someone recently commented to me that most of my Ireland pictures were taken on cloudy/rainy/soft days.  And I responded that for some reason I liked the pictures of Ireland taken on those soft days better than the sunny ones.  Although, when we are in Ireland, I appreciate the warm sunny days so much.  But there’s something about old castles, craggy mountainsides, and sheep in the foggy mist that hit me as just about perfect.  🙂  What do you think? Comment below.  Here are two sets of similar pictures taken on two different days, with very different weather.   Enjoy your sunny or soft day today.  Slainte, Lisa

Just Around the Bend

100_1544

It had been a long, hard journey across the sea.  Two plane flights, a seven hour layover in NJ, a sprained ankle, and three tired children, including a two and a half year old.  Procuring a rental car, securing the car seat, pouring over the map to locate the roads to Portmagee, and off we drove.  I was determined not to stop until we reached our little cottage.  But this view stopped me….Dingle Bay to my right, the wonders of Kerry just around the bend.  I was filled with expectation and excitement and awe at the beauty that God has made.  My poor worn out two year old and nine year old missed the whole thing, being passed out in the backseat.100_1545  But the view gave me just enough energy to make it to the aforesaid cottage; knowing what might be just around the bend was exciting and kept me driving on.

Keep on driving today….what’s just around the bend is full of wonder and needs you to discover it.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa
