Find That Child

running.jpg

People are more than what they do

The car they drive, the kind of shoe

People are more than what you see

The soul inside that yearns to be

Free as a child, running wildly through the grasses

Tumbling madly into the waters

Knowing that they can do it all again and again and again

With no agenda, no worries, no difficulties

Look deeper, if you can, into their eyes and find that child

And give it freedom to come out awhile.

Hiding Baby

Our dog Finnegan has a baby.  A little raccoon toy that he has loved since he first came to our home at 7 weeks old.  He loves to cuddle with it, and when he’s not with Baby, he feels compelled to hide him in a safe location until Finnegan decide to play with him again.  He’ll walk around and around the house, carrying Baby in his mouth, looking for just the perfect spot.

Here’s where I found Baby yesterday.

And here’s Finnegan, on the opposite couch, resting but still close by.

It reminds me of a verse in the Bible which has really comforted me lately.  “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.” ~Psalm 91:4

Hidden, safe, protected, always watched over by my Father in heaven.  Blessings, Lisa

Held

holdinghands

Nothing was better as a child than to be held.  Nightmares, calling out in the darkness, Mom would be there, I was safe, I was held.  Travelling to a new place, Mom or Dad would take my hand, lead me through the uncertainty, the newness, until we were in a safe location and they could let go.

“Yet I am always with You; You hold me by my right hand.” ~Psalm 73:23

God is always there, in the darkness (which is not dark to Him), in the uncertainties (of which He knows the outcome), in the newness.  He made you, He loves you, Jesus will never leave you.  You are held.  Blessings, Lisa

Princess Camera At The Ready

Ready to get her sheep photos

Ready to get her sheep photos

While travelling in Ireland, my then 2 1/2 year old had her little pink princess camera ready for action at all times.  She had several mini-meltdowns upon learning that she had left it in the car after climbing up a certain long hill, and another time she left it sitting on the wall of a ring fort, requiring the drive back to get her “pictures.” After those two times, we were all diligent to check that camera was in hand.  Her favorite subjects were the sheep of course, and she was upset that they would never look up and pose for the camera.

Which makes me remember my little Fisher Price camera from the late 1960’s….I loved pushing that little yellow button and watching the “flash bulb” move.  And absolutely no worries how the photo turned out….they were all perfect.  😉

Enjoy your camera today, whether it be a phone camera, fancy top of the line model, or a pink plastic one.  Slainte, Lisa

Flying School

“Watch that wing!  Pull your nose up!  Keep on the outlook for fish, and don’t forget….have fun!”  ~Teacher Bird

My three birds are have flown out of their nest into various schools this morning.  Praying for their day to be one of joy and newness and friendship and learning.  And for them to have fun on the journey.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa
