Antiquity Looks Outward

Old looks toward the new, wishing it would slow down and enjoy its newness.

The new tends to ignore the old, until it realizes that in a few short years, it will be old as well.

The new house, the old castle, the same beautiful land that God has made.  Both with worth and stories and hopefully, filled with love.

Have fun filling your new or old home with love today.    Slainte, Lisa

Thirsty?

When I’m thirsty, only cool plain water really satisfies. There’s not much better than being really parched, and gulping down big swallows of cold water.  Before you think this is an ad for Dasani or something 🙂 , let me show you a picture of some beautiful water in County Cork.  Listening to the flow of the water drowns out my troubled thoughts, my worries, my plans momentarily.  There’s just the water, the sounds, the peace.

Cool, clear water in County Cork

I HEARD THE VOICE OF JESUS SAY (partial lyrics)

Lyrics – Horatius Bonar  Tune – VOX DILECTI

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give

The living water, thirsty one, stoop down & drink & live”

I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life giving stream

My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

Go ahead; go on and drink some water…lots of it.  Have a wonderful day.

God’s Teardrops

Rain in Ireland

Does God feel what we feel?  Does He understand what it means to be human, to cry, to laugh, to dance, to mourn?  I believe that He does.

Jesus wept when confronted with the sorrow of his friends Mary & Martha at the death of their brother Lazarus, even though He knew He would raise him back to life.  He had great compassion.

God let Jesus walk this road with us so He would understand completely what we go through each day in this life.  And it is wonderful to know that He knows.  “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”  (John 16:33)

Two Peas in a Pod

Ed & I in Powerscourt Gardens

I woke up this morning feeling a little tired.  As I made my way downstairs to assemble the morning lunch sak sandwiches, I glanced over at my husband.  He was feeling the same way; I could tell without having to ask a word.  We gave each other the space we needed to wake up slowly.  That’s how we are…we are two peas in a pod.  Two sailors navigating the same boat.  Two lovers lost in a haze of joy and rapture.  Two friends talking about the same joys and hurts and hopes.  I know….enough with the cliches already!  There is never a good and perfect way to talk about love.  You just know when it’s right and true, and you know that it’s the thing that you want to protect and cherish at all cost.  So honey, if you’re reading this, know that I cherish you.  I hope you are waking up out there in the big bad working world, and making a difference for all those people in the Nuba mountains.  I’m proud of you, and I’m glad to share this pod with you. “Always remember to forget the troubles that passed away. But never forget to remember the blessings that come each day.” – N. McCarthy, Irish blessing Slainte, Lisa

Sweet Music

Music expresses that which can not be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” -Victor Hugo

Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.” – unknown

I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God.” – Martin Luther

“Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.”          -Mary Kay Ash

Find your song, whatever it is, and play it.  It is beautiful, and it is yours, given by God.
