Happy Slacker

Yes, I’ve been a slacker, and no, I’m not sad about it. My husband and I just had a wonderful 25th anniversary trip to the Southern Caribbean, where we recharged, refreshed, and relaxed. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer. I will now do my best to become a good little blogger again. 🙂 Blessings, Lisa

God Bless the USA

Happy birthday, America!  The land of the free, the home of the brave…America, America, God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea…And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died who gave that right to me, and I’ll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, for there ain’t no doubt I love this land….God bless the USA!

Singing yet?  🙂  Have an awesome 4th of July, wherever you are today.  Blessings, Lisa

Write Your Character

character

“With the story of your life, you don’t get to write the whole book, only your character.”  ~Olivia Munn

What an amazing quote.  The more I think about it, the more I like it.  Simple, but profound.  So much of my frustration in life comes from trying to “write” the characters/people that surround me, what they should say, how they should behave, what they maybe should do.  But that’s not in my control….I can only write me.  What I say, how I should behave, what I should do.  And sometimes I don’t even write myself too well, so that gives me plenty to “write” without trying to mess with anybody else.  🙂

Think about it.  I know I still am.  Blessings, Lisa

Blessing in the Midst

oldhouseireland

It’s easy to be pleasant when life flows by like a song

But the man worthwhile is the one who can smile

When everything goes dead wrong.

For the test of the heart is trouble, and it always comes with years.

And the smile that is worth its salt

Is the smile that shines through the tears.

~Irish, Unknown Author

I was moved by this blessing/poem today, and it encouraged me to keep smiling, keep singing, keep hoping…through trouble, through pain, through hard times.  Because life is good, God is loving, and joy can be found, right now.  Blessings for a good weekend, Lisa

Looking for Joy & Finding Sparkles

“You have to look for the joy.  Look for the light of God that is hitting your life, and you will find sparkles you didn’t know were there.”      -Barbara Johnsonsurf

May God bless you with many sparkles of joy today.  Slainte, Lisa
