America the Beautiful

“Oh beautiful, for spacious skies…

America! America! God shed His Grace on thee

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea…”

~Katharine Lee Bates, 1913

Have a wonderful day celebrating and remembering.  The blessings we have are no small thing.  Love, Lisa

God Bless the USA

Happy birthday, America!  The land of the free, the home of the brave…America, America, God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea…And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died who gave that right to me, and I’ll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, for there ain’t no doubt I love this land….God bless the USA!

Singing yet?  🙂  Have an awesome 4th of July, wherever you are today.  Blessings, Lisa

Dwelling in Safety

You would have to live in a very dark, deep cave with amazing soundproofing, unlimited supply of food and water, not to know that there is a presidential election occuring in the United States.  While I always try to vote conscientiously, I am not an overly political person who enjoys engaging in political debate.  However, I just wanted to share a few words from the wisest of all Counsel this morning.

Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?”  Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord.  You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.  I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.  (Psalm 4:6-8)

Yes, I will vote for the candidate who I believe will help this country be the strongest and healthiest.  Yes, I will pray for the leaders, whoever they may be.  But my trust will stay in God above, the maker of heaven and earth.  Blessings, Lisa

Happy Birthday, America!

On this day, in 1776, two hundred and thirty-six years ago, a new nation was born.  It’s name was the United States of America, and it had brave visionary men and women who stood fast to see the new nation come to be.  As far as nations go, America is still a baby country, but she has seen her share of good times and troubles through her two centuries of existence.  I love all the nations of the world, and I love traveling, but America is home, and long may the flag of liberty and justice for all still wave.  And may God bless America, and may we remember from where our blessings in this country come and never take them for granted.  Because God is so good to us.

Have a wonderful day celebrating, wherever you live today.  🙂

Slainte, Lisa
