Fresh Wind of Change

happydog

Usually change terrifies me….but God is doing something new in me.  Changes are coming in our family, and I’m feeling rather exhilarated, excited, anticipatory.  (Plus, I’m wanting to use flowery adjectives, which is not such a good thing.  haha)  New schools, new job, new challenges and schedules.  Not boring, not predictable, and definitely not the same-old, same-old.  🙂  The winds of change are blowing, but I’m not afraid because my good God is in the middle of it all.  Blessings to you today, Lisa

Nose to the Wind

Our dog Finnegan has taught me many things, but the thing I love the most is his total appreciation for the feel of the wind on his face.  He faces the wind full on, lifts his nose to smell all the fresh outside, and closes his eyes as if he’s totally experiencing it and loving it.  🙂  After watching him do this several times, I stood beside him and tried it.  Closed my eyes, lifted my head up, and breathed deeply.  And it was wonderful.  Relaxing yet awakening at the same time.  So if you drive by our house and see a dog and a girl with their eyes closed, wind whipping their hair back, we’re not crazy.  We’re happy.  Slainte, Lisa

Queen of Stone

Queen Elizabeth I, likeness captured in stone and bronze and placed in this garden*.  She stands in serene stillness, never changing in gaze, overseeing the trees and flowers.  It may be just me, but statues can sometimes freak me out.  🙂  Beautiful yes, but sometimes I just keep expecting them to move or change position, yet they stay and stay and stay.  And yes, I also realize that I am personifying inanimate objects again….don’t judge me.  heehee  😉  Have a peaceful and joyful weekend.  Slainte, Lisa

Listening with Love

dogcathurting

So many hurting people, so much overwhelming sense of “what can I do?”  My heart has been aching for those people I will maybe never know who are hurting, right now, in some way that I don’t know.  I want to help.  I am praying, I am crying out to God to touch them in the way that only He can.  I am asking Him to help me not to judge, only to love.  Not to give hurting people clichéd, tired answers to their problems, but just to listen, to put a hand on theirs.  Because we all have been sad, we’ve all been hurt, we all need help.  If you’re hurting today, please know that even though I may not know you, I’m praying for you.  If you want to write, I’ll write back.  Love, Lisa

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a broken spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him from them all.” ~Psalm 34:18

“I have found the paradox,
that if you love until it hurts,
there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

Things We Can’t Know

1068

There are things in this life we cannot know.  We can sometimes sense them lingering out of reach, yet near. Like these small homes off in the distance in the picture.  We can’t know what’s going on inside these homes, what the people are doing, saying, thinking. Whether they’re at peace or not. But God knows these things.   It comes down to faith, trust, belief in Someone greater.  He holds the answers, He knows the way it will work, He cares for us enough to give the greatest good in the end.  And it won’t just be a pretty picture….it will be the perfect picture.  Blessings, Lisa     “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” ~Romans 8:28
