The Clouds Roll In

All of us can see the clouds coming if we look hard enough….they are always coming.  But if we let them stop the living, then we stop living.  What if it rains?  What if I get wet?  What if it spoils our day?  Or….what if we have an awesome day, right here and now?  What if we run on the beach and not mind if we get wet?  What if we feel the wind on our faces, taste the raindrops and thank God above that we are alive and here now?

Feel the rain, and enjoy the clouds.  The day is here, now.  Slainte, Lisa

Technical Difficulties, or the 1963 Post

I had a great post ready this morning…a video of 1963 Ireland, complete with a wonderfully understated step dancer, an adept fiddler, and a very well-dressed early 60’s crowd. But alas, technical difficulties beset the best of my intentions, and no such post appeared. So, rather like a silent movie, I will insert a still shot and let your imagination provide the rest. Or, for if your imagination is on temporary vacation, you can click on this link,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYvU7oBBgKA and see if you can bring the actual video to life on your computer. Just like now, faster is not always better.  The precision and accuracy of the player and dancer takes great talent.  Love it!  No technical difficulties on their part.

Happy in the Rocky Places

Antigua

Antigua

I’ve always been impressed by trees and flowers that can hang on and thrive in rocky inhospitable places.  At first, I begin to feel sorry for them, but then I realize that that is ridiculous, as these strong little miracles are amazing, and strong, and happy where they’re planted.  The wind blows, the soil is far down, but they grow deep roots and grow.  And they tell us so much.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

DSCN0814

Somewhere, this beach, these chairs are waiting…

Waiting for work-weary bodies to sink down into them

Waiting for the island breezes to blow

Waiting for the surf to tickle their legs and wash away the weight

Waiting, peacefully with no worries

Have a blessed weekend.  Slainte, Lisa

Birds In a Bush

DSCN0708

These beautiful snowy egrets are plentiful on St. Kitts in the Caribbean.  Delaney, our taxi driver, said that these birds had been brought onto the island to get rid of tics.   I think that if they would be happy in my yard, they would be a welcome sight here in Virginia.  Tics, be gone!  🙂  Have a wonderful day.  Blessings, Lisa
