Yes, I’ve been a slacker, and no, I’m not sad about it. My husband and I just had a wonderful 25th anniversary trip to the Southern Caribbean, where we recharged, refreshed, and relaxed. Some mornings, or afternoons, or evenings, I just don’t want to sing. For a person who loves to sing, this is always weird and disconcerting. But when I feel like that, that is the very time that I need to sing the most. It lifts me out of the pity-party mode and into the God-party. 🙂

What an amazing quote. The more I think about it, the more I like it. Simple, but profound. So much of my frustration in life comes from trying to “write” the characters/people that surround me, what they should say, how they should behave, what they maybe should do. But that’s not in my control….I can only write me. What I say, how I should behave, what I should do. And sometimes I don’t even write myself too well, so that gives me plenty to “write” without trying to mess with anybody else. 🙂
