Happy Slacker

Yes, I’ve been a slacker, and no, I’m not sad about it. My husband and I just had a wonderful 25th anniversary trip to the Southern Caribbean, where we recharged, refreshed, and relaxed. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer. I will now do my best to become a good little blogger again. 🙂 Blessings, Lisa

God Bless the USA

Happy birthday, America!  The land of the free, the home of the brave…America, America, God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea…And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died who gave that right to me, and I’ll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, for there ain’t no doubt I love this land….God bless the USA!

Singing yet?  🙂  Have an awesome 4th of July, wherever you are today.  Blessings, Lisa

Before me, Beside me

Christ be with me, Christ be within me

Christ behind me, Christ before me

Christ beside me, Christ to win me

Christ to comfort me, Christ above me

Christ in quiet, Christ in danger

Christ in hearts of all that love me

Christ in mouth of friend and stranger

– St. Patrick, Irish cleric

This Gaelic prayer is deep and beautiful.  May the love of Christ surround you today.  Blessings, Lisa

I Will Sing

Some mornings, or afternoons, or evenings, I just don’t want to sing.  For a person who loves to sing, this is always weird and disconcerting.  But when I feel like that, that is the very time that I need to sing the most.  It lifts me out of the pity-party mode and into the God-party.  🙂

“I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.” ~Psalm 13:6

God is so good.  Blessings on your day, Lisa

Write Your Character

character

“With the story of your life, you don’t get to write the whole book, only your character.”  ~Olivia Munn

What an amazing quote.  The more I think about it, the more I like it.  Simple, but profound.  So much of my frustration in life comes from trying to “write” the characters/people that surround me, what they should say, how they should behave, what they maybe should do.  But that’s not in my control….I can only write me.  What I say, how I should behave, what I should do.  And sometimes I don’t even write myself too well, so that gives me plenty to “write” without trying to mess with anybody else.  🙂

Think about it.  I know I still am.  Blessings, Lisa
