“Originality is not doing something no one else has ever done, but doing what has been done countless times with new life, new breath.   – Marie Chaplan

Creativity, originality is placed carefully into all of us by God.  Because He is like that, and we are made in His image.  Whether it be music, writing, drama, art, decorating, gardening, caregiving, athletics (the list could go on indefinitely), we all have that originality within us.  Find that thing in you, even if it is very small right now, and breath new life and new breath into it.  Nurture it and let it come alive.  What a blessing you will be to the sad, worn-out world that needs a spark of hope and life.

Shine!  Slainte, Lisa

“You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden…Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” – Jesus (Matthew 5:14,16)

Pass On the Tune

Irish music is an oral tradition, passed on through the generations, learned by listening and doing.  Here is a dear man who sat outside of the Rock of Cashel in County Cork, playing his accordian joyfully for the passersby.  Joshua was fascinated, and this generous soul invited him to sit down and play awhile with him.  It didn’t matter that Joshua had never played an accordian in his life; this man’s open and sharing spirit encouraged Joshua to feel as if he could.  As my little guy pushed keys and squeezed away, the man nodded in time and tapped his foot.  What a wonderful thing, and what a wonderful memory.

Share what you love to do with some little soul today, and watch their sweet face.  Pass on your tune.  Slainte, Lisa

Shameless Plug

The new CD is here!  I’m very excited, and hope that you will like the new songs and be encouraged.  This will be a “shameless plug” post, and for that, I apologize.  🙂

The CD is available via check or paypal via this website, just click on the “Flight of Freedom” tab at the top of my home page.  It also will be available on Amazon and itunes this weekend, hopefully.  Those of you who live locally, the CD is at the Culpeper United Methodist Church office and Kk’s on the corner of Davis and Main St.

What does it sound like?  Is it any good?  Why should I buy it?  These are all questions I ask myself before buying a new CD.  I honestly cannot answer any of these questions very well; everytime I hear it I think, “Well, there’s me again.”

It sounds like….someone who loves love, and God, and Ireland, and music, especially celtic music.

It is as good as I can make it with what God has given me at this time…I pray it’s good enough to encourage you in your walk.

Should you buy it?  I should say yes, but that is totally up to you.  🙂

Ok, tomorrow I will be as back to normal as I am able.  Thanks for reading and considering.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

Music Vs. Stillness, Before & After

When there is music, there are notes all around, sounds vibrating, tones mixing together to make harmonies.  When there is stillness, there is quiet, sometimes small background noises, but mostly just quiet.  And I love both.  I love the stillness the most after the sounds of the music.  It’s like after a big party…you’ve had fun, laughter, great conversations, good food and drink.  Then they go home, and your home is silent and still again.  The difference is overwhelming at first, and you just sink into the quiet.

The differences and contrasts in life are what make this life fun and exciting, and sometimes peaceful and quiet.  We all need a little of both.  I’m so thankful that God made music; it’s just about my favorite thing in the world.  But I’m equally thankful for the stillness, where I can be at rest and listen for His Voice.
