You Gotta Watch This!

dogs

Ok, so I just saw these dogs play the piano, and I must say that I am amazed.  And check out their happy faces while they play.  Also, no discernible “I’m the best musician around attitude”….a refreshing way to be awesome.  🙂  So watch this, you’ll be glad you did.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

Fishing for Diamonds

100_0326

When I was a little girl and when the sun hit the water just right, I thought there were diamonds out there in the surf.  And if I just could get there quick enough and catch one, it would stay glittery and beautiful in my hand.  But alas, those diamonds seemed to be of the stuff of leprechaun gold and fairy dust, and I was never quite fast enough to fish one out.  I sure had fun trying, though.  🙂  If you’re by the sea today, catch a diamond for me, and if you’re not, imagine yourself picking up one triumphantly in your hand for all to see.  It will make you smile and that’s a good thing.  Slainte, Lisa

A Color of Joy

Our cherry tree is really showing off this spring, and we’re all glad of it!  🙂  When you walk underneath her boughs, it feels like, for just a moment, that you have entered some enchanted fairyland where anything is possible.  And I like that, so I walk beneath these pink blossoms as often as I can.  Enjoy the beauty today, whether it’s a drop of rain slowly falling on the windowpane, a brand new spring green clover, or a pink cherry tree.  Slainte, Lisa

Sole Check

What are you walking on this morning?  Flip-flops, scruffy house slippers, sensible lace-ups, or teetering high heels?  Now check out your soles…are they in good shape, or are they wearing down in places?

“If you have one pair of good soles, it’s better than two pairs of good uppers.” – Irish proverb

It’s no use carrying an umbrella if your shoes are leaking.”  – Irish proverb

Just like our shoe soles, our life’s soul can get worn down too.  Hardships, weariness, illness can all wear us out and make us feel like we have soggy shoes.  When I get like this, and I do, I know I need to take a step back from life, and focus on being thankful, even for the bad stuff, because it means that I’m alive.  That God still wants me here for a purpose of some kind, and that’s  a great thing.  He’s my foundation, my good sole for my shoes.

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”  -Matthew 7:24-25

May your feet be safely on the Rock today.  Blessings, Lisa
