Changing, Yet Remaining

949

I’ve been thinking about change.  Sand dunes blow, shift, rearrange with time, wind, and water.  Yet the essence of the sand dune remains.  It’s still sand; it is still present in some form although maybe different.  Storms blow through all our lives, rearranging things, shifting priorities, helping us to see what’s really important.  Family, friends, Jesus, love, sacrifice for others, giving, smiling, caring….those are the things that remain.  Things may look different, but they are really the same.  “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these if love.” ~1Corinthians 13:13  Hold on to what remains, and know that no matter what changes come into your life, God’s love for you remains steady and unchanging, always.  Slainte, Lisa

A Prayer to Say Thank You

heartsand

We cry, we hope, we call out to God to help.  Sometimes the help is quick, but sometimes we don’t hear the answer that we think is best.  And sometimes the answer to our prayers comes rushing in like a wave of hope, lifting us up with overwhelming love for God.  And that’s how I am today….overwhelmed, thankful, grateful, loving God so much for His provision and lovingkindness.  Thank you, God.  “Praise the Lord!  For he has heard my cry for mercy.  The Lord is my strength and shield.  I trust him with all my heart.  He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.  I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”  ~Psalm 28:6-7  Blessings, Lisa

Whatever you’re going through today, don’t give up.  Keep talking to Jesus; He is listening with His whole heart.

I Will Help You

“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” ~Isaiah 41:13

When we don’t know what will happen, God does.

When we don’t know where the strength will come from, God has it.

When we question why or how or when, God knows it.

The same today, yesterday and forever.

Rest in that.  Blessings, Lisa

What Remains

1089

Sometimes what remains after time is not what was.  Actually, that is true almost all of the time.  But what remains can be beautiful and the changes usually produce a tempered strength and new perspective.

The woman who has gone through years of heartaches and trials…her face has changed but there is wisdom and steadiness, true beauty in her eyes.  She is beautiful.

The man who has faced day after day of work, the routine day in and day out, yet he perseveres in his great love for his family, his need to take care of them.  The years have turned him from boy to man, and he is beautiful.

The home that used to be glossy new, but has faced rain, wind, children’s pounding toys, floods, and time.  The old house now sits with graceful wisdom, having gone through family after family, holding their dreams, their hard times, their togetherness.  It is beautiful.

Time will change all things, but it can be beautiful.   “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed, changed,  into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” ~2Corinthians 3:18

You are beautiful; shine today for God.  You are made in His image.  Blessings, Lisa
