Impending Reunion

IMG_3237

I love these pictures.  My two daughters and I had ridden by jaunting car through the Gap of Dunloe, and my son and husband had decided to run/walk their way through and meet us at Brandon’s Cottage.  (You can just see the top of the little daughter’s blonde hair sticking up over the bridge. 🙂  )  We saw them coming and felt extraordinarily happy, as if we had been separated for weeks rather than hours.  And here’s Amy running to greet her daddy and brother.

One day, when my adventures here on earth are over, there will be an amazing reunion up in the sky, with loved ones who have gone before me, and with Jesus, who loves me and will run to greet me.  What a reunion that will be.  Happy day!  Blessings, Lisa

Journeys and Adventures

Have you ever packed a suitcase when you didn’t know where you were headed?  Have you ever taken off on a car trip without planning your final destination, just drove and drove until you stopped?  I have, and hope to again someday.  It is a remarkably untamed, unplanned, and unpredictable feeling of an adventure.  Scary at the outset if you are a planner, but sometimes just what we humans need to let go of control a little.

One day, when God calls me home at a time when He knows is best, I will be headed off on one of those grand adventures, not really sure what it will be like, but definitely sure that if Jesus is there, it will be amazingly great.  And until that time, life is such a gift, and I’m going to try to love, and encourage, and enjoy, and see, and treasure as much as I can with God’s grace.

“You’re packing a suitcase for a place none of us has seen;

A place that has to be believed to be seen…

Walk on, walk on…what you got, they can’t deny it, can’t sell it or buy it…..walk on.”

(“Walk On,”  U2, All That You Can’t Leave Behind)

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9

May God bless all of your life’s journeys and adventures with His love and mercy.  Slainte, Lisa

Light

What is it about light that is so wonderful and comforting?  We humans are attracted to light, whether God-made or man-made.  Even as a child, I was happier when I was playing on a bright sunny day or a lit room.  When the clouds roll in, I instinctively look and yearn for the break in the clouds, for when the sun will return.  I think that God has placed that longing for the light, the Light, inside all of us….because light reflects who He is.

light1

“I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  – John 8:12

light2

“God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” – 1John 1:5

light3

“There will be no more night.  They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever.”  – Revelation 22:5

Blessings for your weekend…whether the sun is shining or not, it’s always right behind the clouds, just waiting to come back.  🙂  Lisa

New

The CT tragedy has shaken everyone, and so deeply that it is impossible to write about it.  The why’s are unanswerable.  All I know is very little, but it is what I’m holding.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away….And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them and be their God.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ ”  (Revelation 21:1, 3-4)

heavenHold tightly onto His truth and be as loving as you can to those around you.  Because we all need love.   Love, Lisa

Gift from Heaven

gifts

Until yesterday, it has been pretty cold around here, requiring winter coats and heavy sweaters.  But then, out of the clear blue sky, came a 70 degree day, with sun no less!  And we’re going to have another of the same today.  🙂  When one of these days come upon you in the midst of coldness, it makes you immediately want to roll down your windows in the car, turn circles in the grass with your arms outstretched, and move all activities outside, pronto!  A gift from heaven above; God saying in a very small but wonderful way, “I love you; enjoy the day.”  Better than any wrapped gift I can think of.

So excuse me, I’m going to stop blogging now, and get ready to enjoy the day.  (although I’m teaching piano today…can I roll my big piano outside?  🙂 )  Slainte, Lisa

Here’s a lovely rendition of “Count Your Blessings” by Amy Grant & CeCe Winans.  This song helps me see those “heaven gifts” a little clearer.
