All the Difference

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

– Robert Frost

I love this poem.  It’s not just the road; it’s the choice.  The decision and the commitment to walk down that road.   Wow…heavy stuff for a Wednesday, but at least we’re awake and thinking now, right?  🙂

“Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”       -Jesus, Matthew 7:13-14

Blessings to you on your road today, Lisa

It’s All Good

What’s right in front of me is clear…

What’s over the water is less so but still beautiful…

What’s unknown over the mountain is exciting and keeps me traveling…

It’s all good, and it’s all God’s.  Enjoy the journey today.  Slainte, Lisa

Batten Down, Button Up…Or Not

It’s coming.  The winds that will bring change.  Be it cold front or circumstances…change is inevitable.  And the more I can expect it, be ready for the change, even though it’s relatively unpredictable, the better I feel when it comes.  Here are a few of my favorite quotes on battening down and buttoning up for change.  And sometimes when the winds come, you just need to fling your arms wide and run into the newness.  May God bless you with the wind at your back and the sun shining on your fields.  Slainte, Lisa

“You must be born again.  The wind blows wherever it pleases.  You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”  – Jesus (John 3:7b-8)

I love quotes like this.  Words to stimulate my sluggish morning mind into wonder, action and appreciation for blessings that I would otherwise take for granted or ignore.  I pray that you are blessed today.  Slainte, Lisa

I say no, to all of the above.  The essence of what something is does not change based on changing circumstances.  Our family’s favorite expression is “It is what it is.”  That can be used to express that you can’t fight against what you can’t change.  But it also can be used to say that what God created something to be is what it basically is.  Although the thing/person can change and adapt to changes, and with God’s help, keep living life in abundance.

Rejoice in who you are, right now, with whatever God’s given you.  You are special and just right in His eyes.  Blessings, Lisa
