“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows.” ~Helen Keller
And in my life, one of my biggest sources of sunshine is this man. He lights up the room just by being there. Slainte, Lisa
Unless you start doing something different,
you are in for more of the same.

And in the end,
it’s not the years in your life that count,
it’s the life in your years.

Cut not the wings of your dreams,
for they are the heartbeat and the freedom of your soul.

Life can only be understood backwards,
but can only be lived forwards.

Blessings for your Thursday; live forward, different, fully, flying. Lisa
This tree is blooming, and blooming beautifully. Although it is just a tree, it is not worrying about tomorrow, or yesterday, just blooming now. The tree of course benefits by not having a brain, and we are indeed blessed to be able to think and decide, to feel and to imagine. All of these are great gifts from God, as we are made in His image. But He doesn’t want us to worry…easier said than done, right? As a mom, I tend to think ahead and try to micromanage, plan, prevent. But is this worrying helping anything? Absolutely not. That’s why I love this quote by Corrie Ten Boom:
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.”
So for this moment, I am going to try to just be, to just bloom. Have a beautiful day! Slainte, Lisa
“I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” ~Laura Ingalls Wilder
My simple things this morning: a cup of caramel cappuchino, my daughter playing Perplexus at the kitchen table in her new ballerina robe, my dog sleeping blissfully, the quiet of the house before the day begins, my nice steaming hot shower this morning, a hug, an omelette. The challenge for me is always keeping sight of those simple kinds of things in the busyness of the day. Maybe I should “preplan” my simple things, so that I’m looking for them. The cows on the side of the road as I drive, the neighbors’ goats that dive their whole bodies into the stack of hay to eat, the sun that is planning to come out today warming me, talking to my husband on the phone at work, smiles, laughing at the funny oddities in life. Those are a few of my simple, real things I’m going to look for today. I pray that your Christmas was a blessed time with friends and family, and that your simple things abound today. 🙂 Blessings, Lisa
“There is much satisfaction in work well done; praise is sweet, but there can be no happiness equal to the joy of finding a heart that understands.” ~Victor Robinson
This one’s for my husband, the one who understands my heart. Love, Lisa
