What is it about light that is so wonderful and comforting?  We humans are attracted to light, whether God-made or man-made.  Even as a child, I was happier when I was playing on a bright sunny day or a lit room.  When the clouds roll in, I instinctively look and yearn for the break in the clouds, for when the sun will return.  I think that God has placed that longing for the light, the Light, inside all of us….because light reflects who He is.

“I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  – John 8:12

“God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” – 1John 1:5

“There will be no more night.  They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever.”  – Revelation 22:5
