Beach Plus Ireland Equals Perfect

Inch Beach is one of the most relaxing places I have visited in Ireland.  Wide, flat, firm sand that seems to stretch on forever (where an “inch” is more like 3 miles).  Scenic hills surrounding you.  The luring beauty of the Dingle Peninsula.  Ahhh….imagination kicks in, I’m there, I’m breathing in the crisp fall air, the water soothes me yet again,  the wind is blowing all thoughts from my mind, the sand beneath my toes feels wonderful.  🙂  Take a 5 minute imagination vacation right now; pick your favorite spot in the world, close your eyes, be there!  Slainte, Lisa

The Impulse to Soar, Part Two

This is a reprint of an older blog about Fungi, the amazing Dingle dolphin.  I saw a beautiful video of him today that I had to share with you.  He has lived 30 years in Dingle Bay now, and he’s so friendly.  Please take the time to watch…he will make you wonder all over again at the marvel of God’s creations.  Slainte, Lisa

“One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.” -Helen Keller

Fungi, the Dingle dolphin, feel the impulse to soar, and he does so magnificently.

I have days when I just go through the motions: get up, make breakfast, walk the dog, etc.  I don’t see the small beautiful things that God is putting all around me to show me that He’s there, that He cares, that He loves me.  But some days, I wake up and I still do all those things, but by the grace of God, He somehow awakens me to those small wonders.  I feel the impulse to soar.  I have that sense that God is right there beside me and that He will help me to be more like Him, little by little.  We are made in the image of God, and a little of His awesome creativity has been put into each of us.

As I have gotten older, I am slowly learning not to really trust my ups and downs of emotions (this is extremely hard for me).  But still, it is an amazing feeling when I do feel and sense God’s reality, that there is more to life than what I see right in front of me.  And that reality is that if I love and trust Him, I will soar and fly and have strength for the road ahead.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  (Isaiah 40:31)

It’s All Good

What’s right in front of me is clear…

What’s over the water is less so but still beautiful…

What’s unknown over the mountain is exciting and keeps me traveling…

It’s all good, and it’s all God’s.  Enjoy the journey today.  Slainte, Lisa

Azure and Turquoise

Where am I?  Is it the crystal blue seas of the Caribbean? These beautiful azure and turquoise seas are found in Dingle, Ireland on Coumeenoole Beach, the famous beach filmed in “Ryan’s Daughter.”  Soft sand, crystal blue waters and protective cliffs towering around you…what more can you ask for in a beach?  🙂

For those of you who could use a little “wave therapy” to start out your weekend, here’s a video capturing the sounds of the ocean as well as the stunning scenery.

Isn’t it always amazing how truly beautiful the things that God has made are?  Slainte, Lisa

Places to Go and People to See

Take a good look at this picture of a street in Dingle, Ireland.  Click on it and blow it up really big so you can see all you need to.  I am always very curious as to what you focus on when you see it.  The cones perhaps and questions of why they are there?  The happy baby in the stroller?  Murphy’s Pub where you could settle down in a cozy snug and eat and drink and listen to some trad musicians?  Maybe the bright yellow shop at the end where you could look for the perfect souvenir or warm Aran sweater to take home?  It’s been so cool throughout the life of this blog to hear what different people see in a picture.  It really shows the wonderful myriad of personalities that God has made in this world, and how we’re so alike, but yet so unique.  🙂

After I hear from some of you, I will share what I focus on primarily.  Slainte, Lisa
