Blue Again

County Antrim, Ireland

Waves crash in, then water pulled back to sea

The fury spent upon the sand, the grains absorb the weight

Darkened clouds roll furiously and fast across the sky

But pass in time to leave the blue again

Emotions strong and sad and furious roll in and crash

But they roll out again

They do not last

They will pass

Life will be blue again

The Son, the Light, the Hope will come

c 2020 Lisa Lyons

Thinking this morning a lot about emotions and grief. They come in waves, in moments, in phases. But one thing for sure, they will pass. Things usually feel better in the morning, or the next day, or the day after that. I am so thankful that God has put nature all around us so that we can see these things in action. Storms come, storms go. Dark clouds cannot hurt me. They will pass. The worst of ocean waves will give way to calm, smooth seas eventually. And Jesus is here to help us through all of these times. Love, Lisa

“He stilled the storm to a whisper, the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven.” – Psalm 107:29-30

The Unchanging

In these days of uncertainty, people are searching for safety, security, hope.  Something that is unchanging and steady.

“I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” – Revelation 22:13

“Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8

“I lift my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121:1-2

The Unchanging.

Soul Healing

22

Physical healing is a wonderful thing.  But all of us, if we are honest, need healing of our souls as well.  The deep part of us that makes us us.  The part of us, that is different from every other person on this planet, placed in us by God at our conception.

Here are some things that God uses to heal my soul:

……a sunset with all the colors of a masterpiece

……the sounds of the ocean crashing on the shore

……my favorite songs cranked loudly in the car

……quiet time, reading God’s Bible, words of how much He loves me, no matter what

……going outside, doing just about anything, but really seeing, smelling, feeling, listening

……singing, with no holding back

……playing the piano, getting lost in the notes

……seeing, hearing the eyes and smiles and voices of those I love

…..praying and pouring out my heart to the One who made me and cares forever what is going on in my life.

This list could go on and on.  But it is good for me to remember.  Because soul healing helps everything….the body, the mind, the heart.  I encourage you to make your own list soon, and go after some of that soul healing.  Blessings on your day.  Love, Lisa

Sea and Sky

DSCN3354

God has placed images all around us to show us how to proceed.

I can look at the ground beneath my feet, the pebbles that trip.

Or I can look at the sea, the sky, the clouds, the blue.

I can look forward in hope of the future, or look longingly backwards toward the past.

I am constantly presented these choices….hope or despair.  Trust or fear.

The sea and the sky are calling me onward.

Love, Lisa
