A Facebook friend recently announced, “I no longer know if I believe in God.” He/she is now publicly and openly debating the existence of God and Jesus in what they feel to be a highly intelligent and logical way. I can’t even think of the words to say; all I feel is utter sadness for this person. To lose hope in the only hope. Jesus is what keeps me going, what keeps me moving and breathing and hoping and living. And I can’t explain it logically to this person; I just know it. So I’m praying for him/her. Because Jesus is strong enough, big enough, loving enough to bring them back to himself. Please join me in praying, for this person and all the others who need that hope, those answers.
“When people say, you know, ‘Good teacher,’ ‘Prophet,’ ‘Really nice guy’….this is not how Jesus thought of Himself. So you’re left with a challenge in that, which is either Jesus was who He said he was or a complete and utter nut case. You have to make a choice on that.” ~Bono
So, so thankful for Jesus. Blessings, Lisa
When I was a child, I would play wood-elves outside for hours. We had a ring of box bushes that I would sit inside with my collie, Laddie. He would sit solemnly, guarding me inside the ring, and I would pretend to be a wood-elf with all the rest of my imaginary wee folk with me. I would find opened walnut shells on the ground; they were the elves’ beds. I would sit very quietly, because everyone knows that elves can’t tolerate the noise of humans. This picture, taken in Shenandoah National Park, is the closest I’ll get to being a wood-elf. Due to the strangeness of angle and camera perspective, I look smaller and more diminutive of leg than usual. But this makes me strangely happy. 🙂 Go figure. Slainte, Lisa
None of us know what’s around the corner until we step forward and keep going. Good or bad, it’s our life and life is full of learning. As we travel through, around, beneath, and atop, we will discover many things. Beauty, joy, and peace are the things my soul longs for. God has placed these things in the smallest of leaves, the intricacy of cloud formations in the sky, the amazingness of rocks that somehow hold together for hundreds of years. His love for me is written in the sky, and in the earth He created, and on His hands and feet. I just have to remember to keep looking. I would love to hear from you how you see and hear God the best. Slainte, Lisa
