Waiting for Mom

This face says it all.  I had been in this music store in Doolin for over an hour, drooling and looking and generally coveting all the wonderful whistles and music books contained within.  He tried to hang with me for a while, but his seven year old self finally took to the window in a sulk.  My husband captured this wonderful picture for posterity.  🙂

Aren’t pictures great?  They can take you back in time in one instant, just by seeing them.  And think of all the things we have yet to take pictures of, to experience, to delight in God’s stuff…what a wonderful life.  Thankful, Lisa

Places to Go and People to See

Take a good look at this picture of a street in Dingle, Ireland.  Click on it and blow it up really big so you can see all you need to.  I am always very curious as to what you focus on when you see it.  The cones perhaps and questions of why they are there?  The happy baby in the stroller?  Murphy’s Pub where you could settle down in a cozy snug and eat and drink and listen to some trad musicians?  Maybe the bright yellow shop at the end where you could look for the perfect souvenir or warm Aran sweater to take home?  It’s been so cool throughout the life of this blog to hear what different people see in a picture.  It really shows the wonderful myriad of personalities that God has made in this world, and how we’re so alike, but yet so unique.  🙂

After I hear from some of you, I will share what I focus on primarily.  Slainte, Lisa

The Misty Mountains

With “The Hobbit” movie coming out soon, I am feeling Tolkien-minded as I look at this picture of the ascent of Carrantuohill in Ireland.  If you stretch your imagination  a bit, you can almost see Bilbo Baggins and his dwarf companions as they make their way on their great adventure.

“I am looking for someone to share in an adventure that I am arranging, and it’s very difficult to find anyone.” (Gandalf)
I should think so — in these parts! We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner!” (Bilbo)
―    J.R.R. Tolkien,    The Hobbit

“Then something Tookish woke up inside him, and he wished to go and see the great mountains, and hear the pine-trees and the waterfalls, and explore the caves, and wear a sword instead of a walking-stick.”
―    J.R.R. Tolkien,    The Hobbit

Now I have put myself quite in a mind to re-read The Hobbit.  For about the seventh time, but that’s ok, right?  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

The Sea Rolls On

Gazing off the coast from Doolin

“The Sea Rolls On”

Oh, the sea rolls on like our God in heaven above

He goes on and on, never leaving, never tiring

Oh, the mighty Love of God reaching down to us

Oh, the sea rolls on like our God in heaven above
