The Center

The foggy center of Ben Bulben, Co. Sligo, Ireland, 2015

Slowed to a crawl upon the road

Engulfed in fog, vision slowed

The way ahead lies in the center

The yellow line giving path and guidance

The mountain ahead is cloaked in white

Her beauty veiled, and all is quiet

Fixing my eyes upon the center

I see a glimpse of majesty and grandeur

The days ahead are foggy, unclear

But keeping my eyes on the center

On the Beginning, the End, the Everything In Between

On the Lord Jesus Christ, the Center

He will keep me safe; He will reveal the grandeur.

Instead

This world likes to scare us. But God has not given us a spirit of fear, but He has given us power, love, and a sound mind. I thought I would find some of my very favorite journey photos my husband and I have taken over the years to try and replace the fear with the good God things this morning. Have fun thinking of your good God things this morning also. Love, Lisa

Cliffs by the sea. This was taken in County Antrim, Ireland, near the Carrick-a-Rede Bridge.
Mountains in the mist. Ben Bulben mountains, Co. Sligo, Ireland, on the Gleniff Horseshoe.
God’s creatures, sheep, pets, wooly caterpillars. These wooly sheep were on Valentia Island, Co. Kerry.

Just Give It Time

I am choosing to share this hilariously bad photograph of myself standing in an abandoned church during a downpour in Cong, Ireland. Why? Because I think a lot of us are feeling like this lately. Fed up, wet, miserable, sick of whatever it is we are going through at the time. And my lovely husband thankfully caught one of those moments on camera. 🙂

This is the same day, the same me, just about 10 minutes later.

Amazingly, the day had turned around. I was in a warm, dry cafe with the smell of fresh bread and soup wafting from the kitchen. We had just seen the John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara Quiet Man statue on our way into the cafe. And I was glad we were there, in Ireland, in the rain.

We sometimes just need to wait a few moments, or a few days, or a few months. Just give it time. This too shall pass.

Standing Firm

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today….The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:13-14

When I am afraid…..stand firm.

When I am in trouble, the Lord will rescue.

When I need a defender, I need to be still, and let Him fight for me.

Standing firm like this round tower. A tower of strength, refuge and protection during trouble.

“In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge. For You have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.” -Psalm 71:1,5
