My soul is full of longing for the secrets of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.

Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.

Heartsong

“To enjoy life you don’t need wealth or power but a song in your heart.”     ~Anonymous

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”   ~Exodus 15:2a

So….what is the song in my heart this morning?  It is a wonderful tune from Robin Mark, a worship leader from Northern Ireland, called All Is Well.  Praying that it blesses you as well.  Slainte, Lisa

Just Around the Bend

100_1544

It had been a long, hard journey across the sea.  Two plane flights, a seven hour layover in NJ, a sprained ankle, and three tired children, including a two and a half year old.  Procuring a rental car, securing the car seat, pouring over the map to locate the roads to Portmagee, and off we drove.  I was determined not to stop until we reached our little cottage.  But this view stopped me….Dingle Bay to my right, the wonders of Kerry just around the bend.  I was filled with expectation and excitement and awe at the beauty that God has made.  My poor worn out two year old and nine year old missed the whole thing, being passed out in the backseat.100_1545  But the view gave me just enough energy to make it to the aforesaid cottage; knowing what might be just around the bend was exciting and kept me driving on.

Keep on driving today….what’s just around the bend is full of wonder and needs you to discover it.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

Take Every Hug You Can

I’m feeling sentimental this morning.  This is my son and I outside a pub in Temple Bar, Dublin, back when I was still taller than him.  Now at 19 he towers above me, and is off having wonderful new adventures at college.  Treasure all those hugs, and be a “hug collector”….see how many you can collect today.  You won’t be sorry.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

Building the Bridge

IMG_3283

An old man, going a lone highway,

Came, at evening, cold and Grey,

To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide,

Thru which was flowing a sullen tide.

The old man crossed in the twilight dim:

The sullen stream had no fears to him;

But he turned, when safe on the other side,

And built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim, near,

“You are wasting strength with building here;

Your journey will end with the ending day;

you never again must pass this way;

You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide –

Why build you the bridge at the eventide?”

The builder lifted his old grey head:

“Good friend, in the path I have come” he said,

“There followeth after me today,

A youth, whose feet must pass this way.

This chasm, that has been naught to me,

To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.

He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;

Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.

~Will Allen Dromgoole

I pray that you have a wonderful, bridge-building kind of day.  Slainte, Lisa
