Crafted With Love

One day, circa 1981, a mother brought home materials to make Christmas ornaments with her son. They spent a wonderful day together, making memories as well as making these beautiful ornaments which still proudly adorn our Christmas tree. That son is my husband, and that mother is my mother-in-law. Much more than ornaments came out of that day. Conversation, connection, memories, bonding.

Whether it be cookies, cakes, pies, ornaments, or paper chains, all of those Christmas crafts and activities add up to love for a child. And memories for a lifetime.

Blessings to you as you make your memories,

Lisa

Questions

Do you believe in the account of Christ’s nativity?

Why would God send His beloved Son to this earth, to live as a man, and to suffer?

Do you believe that God loves you, even before you loved Him?

Do you feel uneasy and scared about what happens after death?

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

If There Was One

If there was one whose heart was true

Who always saw the best

Who saw your worst yet loved you still

Who laid his life at rest

If there was one who died for you

Who gave it all to rescue

What would you say, how would you feel

When you got the chance to speak

If there was one, you sigh and wish

I’d give my life to him

I’d follow him around and know

Our love would never dim

If there was one, His name is Jesus

Read His life and see

He loves you so, He died for you

Christ Jesus, it is He

Dusting Off

Old friend rediscovered

The dust is off

The hands are rusty

But the strings are true.

How many times we lose track of something in the crazy busy pace of life. The dust accumulates, and we forget. There is such joy in the rediscovering of something that was lost.

Be it friend, family, hobby, faith. The dusting off reveals the beauty of the once was and still can be.

“You have forsaken your first love…..repent and do the things you did at first.”- Revelation 2:4-5b

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ ” – Luke 15:4-6
