What Love Means

My daughter Amy, age 6, is my guest blogger today, and she would like to share her thoughts on what love means.

DSCN0019My doll Laura wants to tell you about love.  Love means showing care to people.  Love means being a nice person.  Love means telling the truth.  Love means helping people when they feel bad.  The way my doll can show love is by always being near me.  And the way I can show love is by always being very, very nice to people.  I hope you like this blog, and I’m going to say goodbye now.  So remember, love is the best way to encourage people.  Love, Amy and my doll Laura

Fishing for Diamonds

100_0326

When I was a little girl and when the sun hit the water just right, I thought there were diamonds out there in the surf.  And if I just could get there quick enough and catch one, it would stay glittery and beautiful in my hand.  But alas, those diamonds seemed to be of the stuff of leprechaun gold and fairy dust, and I was never quite fast enough to fish one out.  I sure had fun trying, though.  🙂  If you’re by the sea today, catch a diamond for me, and if you’re not, imagine yourself picking up one triumphantly in your hand for all to see.  It will make you smile and that’s a good thing.  Slainte, Lisa

The Mist and the Mystery

One of my favorite days spent in Ireland was this day.  County Kerry, forgotten pathway leading into the woods, abandoned stone house with a large and friendly tree growing inside.  We felt that we were the only people who had ever discovered this place, that it was our secret house in our hidden forest.  The mist only added to the mystery and magic of the day.  Memories linger like mist that surrounded us.  Have fun discovering the  beautiful mysteries that are all around you today.  Slainte, Lisapic36

Carefully Controlled Chaos

busymom

Multitasking is sometimes just carefully controlled chaos.  This morning, I stepped back from myself for a second to see how someone else would see me, and it made me laugh.    Moving fast, putting on some sort of clothing that matched, walking the dog (twice before 7:30 AM !!), making three breakfasts, packing lunchboxes, doing my morning exercises, driving children to school…..all before 8 AM.  I have read articles about how women are supposed to multitask well.  All I know is that “when it all comes down, it’s an awful lot to do.”  (from Hats, Amy Grant, Heart in Motion)

But now that things have slowed, and I’m sitting here chilled at my computer, there is a happy sense of getting it all done.  That God gave me enough “umph” this morning to go.  Praying for all of you this Monday that you are getting what you need to done.  And that you can relax for a moment afterwards.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa
