The swing waits, waits for the child
The child that makes it move and soar and fly
The flight that carries the swing and the child high into the air
The air that moves and gives life
The life that is so precious

The swing with the old notched board for a seat brings back memories. Somehow the “splinter free” plastic version just doesn’t look like they would be as much fun.
Yes, I loved my old wooden swing and spent many an hour without seeming to get either a splinter or rope burn. 🙂 But luckily, Amy seems to be blissfully happy on hers.
melodic, fluid and graceful. thank you for this sweet verse on the first of a sweet month. tony
