Dreams and Snowflakes

DSCN2986

We are having snow this morning….thick, wet, huge snowflakes that are melting as soon as they hit the warmer pavement.  Which is great with me, as I am a pretty uncourageous snow driver.  The snow is fading away quickly, like a good dream that disappears into thin air as you awaken.

But some things, the really good things, never fade away.  The love of a special person, the faithfulness of God to us,  the promises that God has made in His word that always come to pass, the hope of eternity spent in peace and joy and beauty with Jesus.  These things will never pass away, never melt, never fade.  I am thankful for these things this morning.  Slainte, Lisa

A Rose By Any Other Name…

welsh town

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.” ~Juliet, Romeo & Juliet II, ii, 1-2

OK…..it might be as sweet, but it wouldn’t be known as the town with the L-O-N-G-E-S-T town name.  A Welsh town known as Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch.    Yes, it’s a real name and a real place.  And I guess that poor little Welsh schoolchildren have to learn how to spell it, hopefully in high school or college.  😉

Learning things like this makes me happy.  Have a wonderful Monday, Lisa

Sea Patrol

DSCN2607

Three birds recently hired by the Outer Banks to patrol the relatively empty beaches and report on their wonderfulness.  Also included in their duties are : amount of fish seen in the waters, amount of splash in the waves upon diving down, and air quality whilst flying.  The powers that be are having trouble however, in getting the birds to report in…they are too happy flying and diving.  😉  Have a bit of fun in your day today, and don’t forget to personify the occasional animal!  Slainte, Lisa
