The Imperfect Can Sometimes Rock

When it comes to old castles, our family likes them less perfect, and more, well, imperfect.  The perfect castles tend to come complete with tour guides and the admission cost that tends to come with them.  (Although I’m mixed on that…those admission costs could help in keeping these wonderful old castles intact for another generation to enjoy.)  But we love to explore these wonderful rocks on our own sometimes, and just imagine.  🙂  Don’t miss the beauty in the imperfect.  Blessings, Lisa

Layers of Beauty

Beauty, the beauty that is all around us if we look, is usually in layers.  The obvious, the subtle, and the hidden.  I always get excited when my busy self slows down long enough to discover the subtle and occasionally, God’s hidden gems.

In this picture, the obvious beauties are the cliffs, rocks and sky.  The subtle are the far hills, the green fields.  The hidden are the tiny tide pools in between all the rocks that we explored, the way the sun makes diamonds on the water, the unexpected fishing boat that appeared later that day around the cliff.  But everyone sees it differently, and even that is a treasure.  🙂  Praying for God to truly open my eyes today to the beauty of all kinds today.  And praying that for you as well.  Blessings, Lisa

The Clouds Roll In

All of us can see the clouds coming if we look hard enough….they are always coming.  But if we let them stop the living, then we stop living.  What if it rains?  What if I get wet?  What if it spoils our day?  Or….what if we have an awesome day, right here and now?  What if we run on the beach and not mind if we get wet?  What if we feel the wind on our faces, taste the raindrops and thank God above that we are alive and here now?

Feel the rain, and enjoy the clouds.  The day is here, now.  Slainte, Lisa

Happy in the Rocky Places

Antigua

Antigua

I’ve always been impressed by trees and flowers that can hang on and thrive in rocky inhospitable places.  At first, I begin to feel sorry for them, but then I realize that that is ridiculous, as these strong little miracles are amazing, and strong, and happy where they’re planted.  The wind blows, the soil is far down, but they grow deep roots and grow.  And they tell us so much.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

What If It Tilted?

DSCN1027

I sometimes love to take strange pictures…ones that aren’t quite straight, not lined up correctly.  Why?  Just because I get tired of the same old thing and just want to see the world a little differently.  What if the world went sideways for a day?  You know, like in one of those funhouses, where the room is tilted and you can’t walk straight?  I guess I should be very thankful that the world doesn’t actually tilt so that I can feel it; that gravity and all those other forces I don’t quite understand keep me feeling upright and standing firm.  Because a disoriented and falling around Lisa can be a scary thing.  🙂  May your feel be solidly planted today, and may God keep you upright and planted on the Rock.  Slainte, Lisa
