I took this on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, shortly after a light rain had passed through. It really emptied out the beach, except for a few hardy souls. I love staying on the beach in summer when it showers, as long as there’s no thunder and lightning. You’re wet anyway, and there is the peace that descends when the masses retreat. May God bless your weekend with peace and joy. Lisa

The Sandy Path
Soft, sandy paths feel good on bare feet, but they are hard to walk on. The sand gives way underfoot, causing all the other muscles to work harder to gain momentum. (good workout though!) Hard packed sand, however, is great to walk on. Rocky paths are difficult, because you need to watch your step carefully so there are no turned ankles on the way.
No matter which type of path you’re walking today, the end of the path is worth it. There are oceans to be seen, seagulls flying overhead, and mountain vistas abounding. Walk the path, and hold tightly to the hand of God, who will give you the strength you need for the path you’re traveling. Slainte, Lisa
Sea Foam
Sea Oats
Although delicate, they protect. Although bendable, they withstand. Sea oats on a dune…protecting the vulnerable sand dunes and withstanding steady ocean winds. Those thin reeds might sometimes wonder if they’ll have what it takes. But in the morning after a fierce nor’easter, they stand, they go on another day. I pray that God gives me the strength to do the same. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” ~Isaiah 40:31 Have a blessed day, Lisa
Soft Dunes
I love sand dunes almost as much as I love rocks. Dunes have many similar qualities that intrigue and comfort me: They’re usually bigger/taller than me. They provide protection and shelter. But unlike rocks that I love to climb upon and sit on, dunes change shapes. They are more delicate in their protection. They are vulnerable to the wind and rain in a way that rocks are not. So as much as I am tempted sometimes, I don’t climb and sit on dunes. I take the path around them, and marvel at the sand mountain that God has placed there. So many wonders that He has made. 🙂 Have a blessed day! Lisa
“But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.” ~Psalm 5:11
