Layers of Beauty

Beauty, the beauty that is all around us if we look, is usually in layers.  The obvious, the subtle, and the hidden.  I always get excited when my busy self slows down long enough to discover the subtle and occasionally, God’s hidden gems.

In this picture, the obvious beauties are the cliffs, rocks and sky.  The subtle are the far hills, the green fields.  The hidden are the tiny tide pools in between all the rocks that we explored, the way the sun makes diamonds on the water, the unexpected fishing boat that appeared later that day around the cliff.  But everyone sees it differently, and even that is a treasure.  🙂  Praying for God to truly open my eyes today to the beauty of all kinds today.  And praying that for you as well.  Blessings, Lisa

On Track

IMG_3198
When you’re hiking, you can get lost pretty quickly if you don’t stay on the trail.  Things start looking the same and you can get turned around and disoriented.  In dancing or figure skating, experts say to keep your eyes fixed on one focal point, so that you won’t get dizzy during spins; it keeps you grounded.  In my life, if I take my eyes off God, I can get dizzy and lost and disoriented really quickly.  And then I always wonder what happened….how did I get so discouraged?  It usually takes me a few days to realize what I did…I lost sight of my focal point, my constant.

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.  Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.”                                                                                                           – Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message)

I pray that I can keep focused on His voice, and I pray the same for you today.  Blessings, Lisa

The Mist and the Mystery

One of my favorite days spent in Ireland was this day.  County Kerry, forgotten pathway leading into the woods, abandoned stone house with a large and friendly tree growing inside.  We felt that we were the only people who had ever discovered this place, that it was our secret house in our hidden forest.  The mist only added to the mystery and magic of the day.  Memories linger like mist that surrounded us.  Have fun discovering the  beautiful mysteries that are all around you today.  Slainte, Lisapic36
