In the cleft of the rock

What is peace?  Read this story shared by Bill Wilcox:

Someone had offered a large prize for the best painting that depicted the concept of peace.  There were many entries of bucolic pastures with animals grazing, fields of flowers, and other such peaceful settings.  The winning entry was much different.  The scene was a rocky shoreline with towering cliffs in the midst of a frightening storm.  Huge waves were crashing violently over the rocks, and the winds were fierce.  Lightning flashed from the dark and menacing clouds that were dropping torrents of rain on the landscape below.  In a small cleft of rock part way up the cliff above the shoreline was perched a small bird at rest – protected and covered by the rock surrounding it – safe from the vicious storm.

“He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.” ~Psalm 91:4

Be the bird.  Blessings, Lisa

Using the Rocks

What to do in a land filled with rocks?  Use them.  Barriers, fences, castles, homes.

What to do in a life filled with some hard times?  Try your best to use them.  Strength, endurance, patience, character.

Be Silly. Be Honest. Be Kind.

Happy 2nd day of 2016!!  Another new year of God’s grace.

Some Ralph Waldo Emerson quotes to get my non-resolution self going in the right direction:

“Be Silly.  Be Honest.  Be Kind.

All that I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Blessings and love, Lisa

**P.S.  Much thanks to the Belfast gentleman who kindly agreed to take our pictures beside Slieve League cliffs, and also got his thumb in 9 different pictures, causing great and welcome laughter from both sides of the camera.  What a great day.  🙂
