Coming home one evening not too long ago, I saw our mountain enveloped in cloud and mist, and of course, I ran inside to get my camera pronto. Now if there was a way to get rid of those electrical lines. But without electricity, there would be no computer, no WordPress, and hence, no post. 😉 Have a wonderful day! Slainte, Lisa

Storm Clouds Are Just Another Shade of Blue
When I wake up on a day like this, I have two choices: cover up my head and call it a day, or put on my boots, warm coat, zip up and go on. I wish I could say that I always choose the latter of the two, but on the days when I have, I have been so glad. Because beauty, joy, discovery can still be found on grey days…the beaches are quieter, the mountains look mysterious and as if they have a story to tell, and the wind cleanses and pushes out all the other “stuff” I might have been feeling.
You may be going through something really hard right now, something so big that you don’t know how to tackle it….you feel like diving under the covers and calling it a day. The longer I live this life, the more I see that all of us go through some pretty hard stuff. But if I will just zip up my boots (don’t get me started on how much I love my boots 🙂 ) and face the wind, no matter how stiff, I am alive, I am blessed, God is looking down on me and cares about me. It may feel like He’s raining down on me sometimes, but those storm clouds are just another shade of blue. Making me stronger, making me more like him. Keep going, keep looking, the storm clouds will break, pass, and the blue sky is right there. And it has been, all the time. Slainte, Lisa
“By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way…” ~Exodus 13:21a
The Clearing
Storm clouds roll around. Rain pours. Wind howls. Tornado and flash flood watches issued. The people huddle down, casting fearful and watchful eyes to the skies. Mercifully, the storm passes with no lasting damage. The skies clear, revealing crystal clear air that you can breathe all the way to the very bottom of your lungs. The bluest of skies intermingles with peach and indigo frontal clouds. Jet streams play and crisscross in those beautiful skies. The people are joyful and thankful to be here, to be alive in this great gift of a world that God has made. Slainte, Lisa
“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm…let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.” (Psalm 107: 29-31)
A New Day
O God who created the sun, You are the sun of my soul & I adore Your brightness.
I love You, O Everlasting Light. May I see You in the bright light of Your glory.
-Irish blessing
Some mornings you wake up, and you’re not really awake. But other mornings, you wake up and begin to realize how amazing the gift of life is. To be alive, to have a purpose, to breathe deeply of God’s good air, to see the sunshine or the clouds and be glad that you’re seeing them. Take a moment…breathe deeply….thank God for whatever blessings are around you right now. Be blessed. Slainte, Lisa
Can You See It?
What do you see in the rock?
Good job if you said “elephant”. If you said something else, you’re probably just more creative than the rest of us. 🙂 If you didn’t see him, look again, his trunk is on the left, and he’s laying down in the grass, chilling out by the lake.
When I was younger I used to lay in the grass and look for shapes in the clouds and the tree leaves above my head. I haven’t done that in far too long. It’s funny as you get older, you worry about the bugs or ticks that may be crawling on you, and you forget how to just relax and enjoy laying in the summer grass. I need to change that in the next few days.
Enjoy your summer day. Slainte, Lisa
