God Knows No Distance

“If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”            ~Psalm 139:9-10

Sometimes our feelings say that God is far away, but He’s always right here, right now.  It’s usually me who has moved away.  The amazing thing is that as soon as I say His name, “Jesus….” , the distance is breached.  We’re close, He’s listening.  Be encouraged today.  Slainte, Lisa

You Can Run…

You can run, and you can hide….

But we’ll find you and take that picture!  🙂

Sometimes we all wish we could hide away…hide from our past, hide from responsibilities, hide from pain.  Crazily, we sometimes even want to hide from God, thinking that He won’t want to see us after what we did/said/thought/etc.  But He’s always there, ready to forgive and let us start over.  He’s watching over us as a loving Father, protecting and thinking of us even when we don’t know it.

“If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You…..How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand, when I awake, I am still with You.” – Psalm 139:11-12, 17-18

How amazing that is to me…I pray heaps of blessings on your day today.  Slainte, Lisa

New Breath, New Chance

“If you make a mistake in a song, don’t forget every breath is a new beginning and a new chance.” – Julia Gregson, Jasmine Nights

micmorning

How true and beautiful.  A new day, a new beginning, a new chance.  A brand new morning, fresh and clean.  You can sing your song again and people will hear your new rendition.  Go ahead, take a deep breath, and let those notes come out.  I pray beauty and grace and love in every phrase, for me and for you.  Slainte, Lisa

“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” – Psalm 40:3a

On Track

IMG_3198
When you’re hiking, you can get lost pretty quickly if you don’t stay on the trail.  Things start looking the same and you can get turned around and disoriented.  In dancing or figure skating, experts say to keep your eyes fixed on one focal point, so that you won’t get dizzy during spins; it keeps you grounded.  In my life, if I take my eyes off God, I can get dizzy and lost and disoriented really quickly.  And then I always wonder what happened….how did I get so discouraged?  It usually takes me a few days to realize what I did…I lost sight of my focal point, my constant.

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.  Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.”                                                                                                           – Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message)

I pray that I can keep focused on His voice, and I pray the same for you today.  Blessings, Lisa

Praying

Oklahoma

Yesterday was a rough day…sad news from Oklahoma, sad news from friends, worries about others.  It drove me to praying pretty quick.  I know that many of you are doing the same thing.  And I’m also praying that I keep praying…that I don’t forget to keep lifting these people up in the days to come.  Blessings, Lisa

“From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.  For you have been my refuge, a strong tower…” – Psalm 61:2-3
