Trusting…Letting Go…Enjoying the Ride

Lake Boat
So many things in our lives are out of our control.  And I can tell you that I don’t like that, at all, but I know that it’s good for me.  Trust….let go….let someone else be in charge….enjoy the ride.  On this particular day, the adults all had to exit our lake boat as we were passing from one Killarney lake to the next through a shallow section.  But our guide let Joshua stay and enjoy the ride through with him.  Joshua, only 7 at the time, was unsure at first, but afterwards, he was all smiles and stories.  Trusting, letting go, and enjoying the ride.

There is a Bible passage that really helps me when I’m going through the uncontrollable waters:  “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you…..Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you….do not be afraid, for I am with you.”  (Isaiah 43:2,4a,5a)

Let go…trust your Guide…enjoy the amazing ride He has planned for each of us!  Slainte, Lisa

Flying Free

Kell's Priory

Kell’s Priory

These birds are above, free, soaring high, not bound by the confines of the ground below.  When I see a bird, my soul cries out to be with them, to be weightless and feeling the wind carrying me.  God knows that we long for more, to experience that freedom.  That yearning we feel is what draws us forward and upward, waiting for the day we can truly fly, forever.  If you need release and forgiveness, Jesus wants to do that for you.  Just ask.  And you will know for sure that one day you will fly.  Until then, we have the birds to show us how it’s done.  🙂  Blessings, Lisa

“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.” ~Psalm 118:5

“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” ~ John 8:36

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” ~ John 10:10b

“After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever.”  ~1Thessalonians 4:17

Rowing to Innisfallen

Innisfallen Abbey

Innisfallen Abbey

If you are touring in the Killarney area near Ross Castle, and have the time, I recommend rowing a boat over the lake to Innisfallen.  Innisfallen island is over the lake a bit from the castle, and my valiant husband braved the wind chopped lake waves and rowed us over.

Our little rowboat is on the left of the pier; Ross Castle can be seen in the distance across the lake.

Innisfallen was the site of a monastery established in the 7th Century; people say that King Brian Boru studied there.  If you go, you will see the remains of a 11th or 12th century priory and church.  But mostly, what you will feel and see is peace, quiet, history, and the remembrance of past saints’ prayers.  Slainte, Lisa
