My soul is full of longing for the secrets of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.

Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.

Nothing Small About It

“Live your life while you have it.  Life is a splendid gift – there is nothing small about it.”  – Florence Nightingale

“Remember, there are no small parts, only small actors.” –  Konstantin Stanislavski

God has breathed the breath of life into each one of us, and has given us an amazing life to live.  And none of us are small in His eyes.  Ever.  Slainte, Lisa

With All Your Heart

DSCN0752

“A bell’s not a bell ’til you ring it,

A song’s not a song ’til you sing it

Love in your heart wasn’t put there to stay

Love isn’t love ’til you give it away.”

-Oscar Hammerstein II, Sound of Music, “Sixteen Going on Seventeen”

Ringing, singing, loving…whatever you’re doing today, go for it with all your heart!  Slainte, Lisa

Write Your Character

character

“With the story of your life, you don’t get to write the whole book, only your character.”  ~Olivia Munn

What an amazing quote.  The more I think about it, the more I like it.  Simple, but profound.  So much of my frustration in life comes from trying to “write” the characters/people that surround me, what they should say, how they should behave, what they maybe should do.  But that’s not in my control….I can only write me.  What I say, how I should behave, what I should do.  And sometimes I don’t even write myself too well, so that gives me plenty to “write” without trying to mess with anybody else.  🙂

Think about it.  I know I still am.  Blessings, Lisa

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” – Jesus, Matthew 7:3

Upward and Now

Upward towards God, living now…the way towards hope.

“Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”  – Philippians 3:13

“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do.  But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.” – Author unknown

“One day at a time – – this is enough.  Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come.  Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.” – Author Unknown

Love and blessings, Lisa
