Sunset on the sound in Duck, NC….I couldn’t help but think about this description of how heaven is, how God lets us see little glimpses of the amazing beauty that is waiting. “And the street of [New Jerusalem] was pure gold, like transparent glass…The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” ~Revelation 21:21b, 23

Today, for one day only, there is a land race. You gaze upon the picture, pick your spot, and race there as fast as you can. By horse, car, motorcycle, hot air balloon, running, or by imagination. The first one there gets to claim their land in lovely Ireland. You can tell me in the comments if you made it to your spot in time to place your stake. I took this on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, shortly after a light rain had passed through. It really emptied out the beach, except for a few hardy souls. I love staying on the beach in summer when it showers, as long as there’s no thunder and lightning. You’re wet anyway, and there is the peace that descends when the masses retreat.
