She waited
She sat
She prayed
For the wind
Stillness surrounded
Staleness enfolded
She prayed and prayed
For the wind
And then one day…
It came

“We are always either drawing nearer to God or falling away. There is no holding pattern.”
“I discovered an astonishing truth: God is attracted to weakness. He can’t resist those who humbly and honestly admit how desperately they need him.”
Both of the above quotes are from Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, a wonderful book written in 1997 by Jim Cymbala. I heartily recommend reading this accounting of what the Lord is doing at Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. It is energizing, convicting, and is exactly what I needed to read.
We all want change. We look around at the state of the world, of people’s souls, and feel at a loss. God and God alone brings real change. And real prayer and humility and true love to those who are desperately hurting is the way that people see that Jesus Christ is real and alive and that He loves them without measure.
“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” – 2 Chronicles 16:9
Praying with you…..let’s pray and keep praying and then pray some more. Pray continually.
Lord, we humble ourselves before you. Forgive us. Cleanse us. Make us like Your Son through Your Holy Spirit. Help us to love, love without limit like You. Fill us with Your Spirit, for Your Glory, for this time.
Love, Lisa

God’s Spirit is refreshing my weary heart
Like a wind on a still, airless day
Like cool perfect water after a dry, parched time
Like the perfect new glasses when you haven’t seen clearly for so long
Like the sound of new birds tweeting in their nest when you have made it through the winter
Like life where there was death
Like hope where there was despair
Overflowing refreshing

“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” – Jeremiah 31:25
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth….you know him, for He lives with you and will be in you….the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” – John 14:16, 17, 26
I don’t know how it’s feeling in your part of the world, but here in Virginia, it was 41 degrees F this morning. I’m one of those people who don’t like to put on the heat before November….”just put on another sweater” kind of girl. Mostly because I get a thrill out of getting a very low electric bill that month. 🙂 But this fireplace is looking really good right about now. (Picture taken last week at Harvest festival at Graves’ Mountain.) May God bless you today with warmth in your heart, and a constant fire of His Spirit. Blessings, Lisa
