Traveling Light

When we travel, we like to travel lightly.  One carry-on 20 inch suitcase is the limit.  Once I get past the initial, “There’s no way that I can fit everything for 3 weeks in there!” stage, it is the most freeing thing.  No worrying about whether the suitcase will make it off the plane, no lugging heavy suitcases from town to town, easy choices in the morning about what to wear since there’s only 2 or 3 options.  🙂

I am in the process of “lightening” my laptop right now.  Taking all the memory heavy pictures off and putting them on an external source to free up some memory.  My computer feels happier and quicker and lighter already.

One day I will travel to my final place with God and the angels, and I want to travel lightly.  Nothing worse than going to heaven with a big old heavy suitcase full of regrets, guilt and excessive stuff.  Because after all, if I want to fly, I be weightless. 🙂  May all your travels be good ones today.

Time and Eternity

Time is precious; time is fleeting.  Some days go quickly, while others drag on.  Yet the sum of life is short.  But before you get too morose in reading this, there is an answer to this, there is more to our story.  “He has made everything beautiful in its time.  God has also set eternity in the hearts of men.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:11a)  and better yet….

Jesus said to her(Martha):  “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?”  (John 11:25-26)

What about you?  What do you think?  Do Jesus’ words make you happy and want to dance, or does this freak you out because you don’t want to hear it or believe it?  If its the second choice, just sit on it awhile, don’t make a quick decision.  Because He loves you so much, even if you don’t always feel it.  He wants to give you a hope for your future…an endless future with no ending and eternal joy and peace.  A future where you don’t have to be afraid ever again.  Slainte, Lisa

Fairy Glen

Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to believe in wee folk, fairies, wood elves, whatever you like to call the sprightly creatures.  My rational mind tells me that this is foolishness; yet my thoughts easily go back to playing in the woods, laying out little half nut-shells for their beds under the trees when I visited glens like this one near Killarney, Ireland.

Call it too many viewings of “Peter Pan” as a child, or simply a yearning to fly in heaven one day.  God has placed in me an intense desire to fly someday…whether in a plane, or better yet, free-flying like a bird.   I have these amazing flying dreams where I can fly, and I never want to wake up.  Others in my immediate family have had these kind of dreams also, and they are a big hit with all of us.  How about any of you?  Had any awesome flying dreams lately?  If so, please share.  If not, please don’t laugh out loud too raucously.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa
