Wave Upon the Shore

The breaking of a wave cannot explain the whole sea.

Waves come and go; they crest high and then they crash onto the shore.  Yet I never grow tired of watching them, listening to their roar drown out my worrisome thoughts.  Waves help me hear God’s voice; in fact, I believe that God’s voice sounds a lot like the waves.  “…and His voice was like the sound of rushing waters.” (Revelation 1:15b)  Pretty awesome.  Have a blessed weekend, Lisa

Being Still

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” – Mark 4:39

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” – Isaiah 30:15

It’s Monday, and God is still God.  Nothing has changed; He’s got you and always will.  Stillness.  Blessings, Lisa

Look at the intricacy and sheer number of rocks that make up these Irish walls.  When you really examine them, it is overwhelming how much time, work and thought went into these structures.  And it is also amazing how many thousands of years these structures have withstood Ireland’s invaders, winds, rains, and other natural decayers.  It makes me glad that they are there, solid, enduring, testament to lives lived.  It makes me glad that we have a solid rock in Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, solid, enduring, and always with us.  Blessings, Lisa

What We’re Aware Of

The people in this village on St. Lucia were not aware of our small boat out at sea, and if they did see us, they probably thought, “Oh, another boat.”  We saw the village, the little dots of houses built into the hillside, but we thought, “Oh, what a nice little village,” took the picture, and gave the people there no more thought.  Yet all of the people on the boat had lives they were living and dealing with, and all of the people in the village had the same.  But we all get so wrapped up in what we can see, what we’re living and doing.  Somehow, it’s comforting to me to know that so many other people are going through similar things like me in this world.  I may not know them, but they’re there.  And God sees us all, and is guiding us through the maze, through the things we can’t see and aren’t aware of, to a beautiful ending.  Blessings, Lisa
