Letting Love Win

snoopy.jpg

Love can win, every time.

It is easy to get lost in blame, anger, resentment, self-pity.

It is hard to let go, to forgive, to love even if the other person isn’t sorry or doesn’t realize they’ve hurt.

But love frees, forgiveness lightens, God works through sacrifice.

Light will always shine brighter than the darkness.

Kindness can sift through the hardest ground.

Love can win, every time, if I will be open and not let my pride stand in the way.

(officially ended sermon to myself….hope it encouraged you as well.  🙂  )

Capturing My Thoughts

Jesus-on-the-Stormy-Sea-says-Fear-Not-298x400.jpg

Minds can run wild sometimes, and mine tends to run towards anxiety, things I can’t control, what ifs, discontentedness.  Something that has really helped me lately with this is focusing on this verse:

“….bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”   ~2Corinthians 10:5b

and this one:

“….let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…”  ~Hebrews 12:1b-2a

Try this the next time you are anxious:

~Breath deeply for a minute or more.

~Focus on Jesus, picture Him walking towards you on top of the stormy seas with no difficulty

~Thank Him, ask Him to help you calm the seas.  Remember He said, “Be still!” to the waves and wind, and they were.

~Breathe, pray, relax, thank Him, remain focused on Him.

This helps me very much, and I hope that it may help you as well.  Love and hugs, Lisa
