Biggest Fake Rocks I’ve Ever Seen

DSCN0645

These giant fake rocks are in the port of St. Maarten in the Caribbean.  This port was enhanced after big storms destroyed much of the port infrastructure in 1995.  These composite rocks help to protect the port from further water damage.  Although I admire their ingenuity and practicality, they just aren’t the same as real rocks.  No crags, no dents, no character.  Poor rocks that aren’t rocks.  They’re trying their best though; I guess I should cut them some slack.  😉  Have a wonderful weekend!  Lisa

Just Bloom

July Tree on St. Kitts

July Tree on St. Kitts

This tree is blooming, and blooming beautifully.  Although it is just a tree, it is not worrying about tomorrow, or yesterday, just blooming now.  The tree of course benefits by not having a brain, and we are indeed blessed to be able to think and decide, to feel and to imagine.  All of these are great gifts from God, as we are made in His image.  But He doesn’t want us to worry…easier said than done, right?  As a mom, I tend to think ahead and try to micromanage, plan, prevent.  But is this worrying helping anything?  Absolutely not.  That’s why I love this quote by Corrie Ten Boom:

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.”

So for this moment, I am going to try to just be, to just bloom.  Have a beautiful day!  Slainte, Lisa

From The Top

We made it, one step at a time, about 100 steps, and stopped…turned…looked….aaahhh!  Totally worth it.  Whatever staircase is facing you today, don’t think too much about how big it is, or how many steps you have to go.  Just take that first step, then another, then rest awhile, and continue.  You will reach the top eventually; there’s no rush.  And then the view from the top….aaahhh!  🙂  Slainte, Lisa
