Seymour Sycamore

DSCN1449

Seymour Sycamore is big, really big.  Some might call him a giant.  He’s not really a sycamore tree, but that’s beside the point.  That’s what we called him when we bought our house, and any other name for him just seems wrong now.  He is old, older than our 1927 house, and he stands guard closely.  He provides shade in the hot summer and a sturdy branch for our children’s swing.  He could be a she; not really sure about these tree kind of things.  You arborists out there might say he’s an “it”, but he is too much a part of our everyday lives for me to do that.

The point?  None really, except to enjoy those little (or big) things that are around you.  Blessings from God that are all around us, if we look.  Slainte, Lisa

A Blessing For the Journey

IMG_3217

May God shield you on every step,
May He aid you on every path,
And may He hold you safe on every slope,
On every hill and on every plain;
On earth and on sea until you are home again.

~ Irish Blessing

Whether your feet take you across the sea, up a mountain, or just out in your backyard, know that Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.  He is with you always, even to the very end of the age.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

The Clouds Roll In

Dingle Bay

Dingle Bay

Kerry County

Kerry County

All of us can see the clouds coming if we look hard enough….they are always coming.  But if we let them stop the living, then we stop living.  What if it rains?  What if I get wet?  What if it spoils our day?  Or….what if we have an awesome day, right here and now?  What if we run on the beach and not mind if we get wet?  What if we feel the wind on our faces, taste the raindrops and thank God above that we are alive and here now?

Feel the rain, and enjoy the clouds.  The day is here, now.  Slainte, Lisa

I Will Sing

Some mornings, or afternoons, or evenings, I just don’t want to sing.  For a person who loves to sing, this is always weird and disconcerting.  But when I feel like that, that is the very time that I need to sing the most.  It lifts me out of the pity-party mode and into the God-party.  🙂

“I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.” ~Psalm 13:6

God is so good.  Blessings on your day, Lisa
