My Spot for the Weekend

Barbados

Barbados

Today’s the last official day of unofficial Caribbean week on the blog,  so I thought I’d better pick out my spot to imagination chill for the weekend.  Here it is….I’m sitting beside this big rock on the sand…chair, towel, hat, good book, some imaginary waiter that appears to serve yummy food and drinks, and the water on my feet.  And later I’ll jump in the water and let you know how it feels…..wait, wait….I just did.  It was great.  😉  Enjoy your days, wherever your feet are.  Blessings, Lisa

The Last Mill in Barbados

Barbados has one of the two remaining restored sugar mills in the Caribbean, the Morgan Lewis Windmill.  Built 250 years ago, it is a sight to see.  We live beside an old flour mill here at home, so it’s always fascinating to me to see other mills.  If you’re on the fence about visiting Barbados someday, jump over…it’s a great island!  🙂  Have a wonderful Monday, and may God give you the energy you need to move through your day.  Blessings, Lisa

Becoming More Beautiful

This is a sharp coral rock in Barbados, hurtful to touch, relatively untouched by the water.

This rock, on the same shore, has been smoothed and rounded by the constant force of the water across it at high tide.  It is softer, able to be stood upon by tender bare feet, an accommodating shelter of sorts.

Water is a relentless and powerful force that shapes, changes, and affects by its very presence.  Life gives us all lots of “water”…forces that change us.  We may not like the changes, we resist, but eventually, we realize….we’re stronger, we’re smoother, we’re more of a refuge for other people to seek, we’re more beautiful.  And I’m so thankful that God loves me enough to let me be more beautiful, more like Him.  Be blessed today, Lisa

Pretty Cool Rocks, Part Two

Bathsheba, Barbados is a coral island filled with lots of cool but rather sharp rocks.  And so, we were compelled to take lots of pictures of them, and now share them with you.  If you like rocks, you’ll like these.  If not, ask yourself….rocks, what’s not to love?  😉  Have an awesome day, Lisa

What If It Tilted?

DSCN1027

I sometimes love to take strange pictures…ones that aren’t quite straight, not lined up correctly.  Why?  Just because I get tired of the same old thing and just want to see the world a little differently.  What if the world went sideways for a day?  You know, like in one of those funhouses, where the room is tilted and you can’t walk straight?  I guess I should be very thankful that the world doesn’t actually tilt so that I can feel it; that gravity and all those other forces I don’t quite understand keep me feeling upright and standing firm.  Because a disoriented and falling around Lisa can be a scary thing.  🙂  May your feel be solidly planted today, and may God keep you upright and planted on the Rock.  Slainte, Lisa
