Do Something

Scenario One: Person sitting in chair, eyes glued to a lit screen, reading about depressing news and other people’s lives. No movement, and a mild sense of anxiety pervades.

Scenario Two: Person closes screen, walks, moves body, thinks his/her own thoughts instead of what is being fed through the media, decides to go for a walk and breath and stretch. Anxiety lessens immediately. Plan: write something, anything, get the creative wheels flowing, and then take a walk.

I have made my choice this morning. Closing this laptop as soon as I press “Publish.”

Love and blessings to you all, Lisa

Yearning Soul

The yearning is strong in that one, they said

She always is wishing and striving for what? they shook their head

She thinks too much, she’s too strung up

She just needs to be happy and content and shut up

But she is happy in her way, and she loves to think

She feels like the wind, just whipping along

To whatever new beauty the world has in store

She ponders, then lights, then moves on

The only way to create is feel the push and discontent growing within

Then let it out and enjoy the rush

Of the newness, the freshness, the hope and joy

The yearning soul who longs to see

A bit of heaven on earth, a bit of God that we

All have in our souls to create and to yearn

For something better, something Him, something beautiful.

Thank You

When I knew nothing of You, You knew all about me

When I was lost in the darkness, You were the Light that kept me safe

When I was drowning in guilt, You kept me afloat

When I reached out to You, You heard and answered me

You hung on a cross to pay for all the bad I have done

Even though I was blind to it for so long

But thank You, thank You, thank You.

You are Lord of all, You are King of the universe, You are Everything.

Thank You, Jesus.

Death is no more, You have conquered the grave

For all who believe in You, You made the way

To eternal life, to peace, to joy

You rose after three, You’re alive evermore

You are God, You are Lord, You are King

Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Jesus.

Read Matthew 26:36 through Matthew 28:20, and Luke 22:39 through Luke 24:53.

Have a blessed Resurrection Day! Love, Lisa

A Blessing for St. Patrick’s Day

May you always know a love that shares

Their time, their comfort, their life and cares

Like someone who gave up his worldly ease

To return to a land of former captivity

To share the Love that knows no end

To set you free from guilt and shame

Patrick came back to Ireland so long ago

Out of love and calling did he go

E’en though he faced his painful past

No pain on earth could stop his task

And so today, my wish for you

To know the Christ that so loves you.

And just as St. Patrick once declared,

“The Lord is greater than all: I have said enough.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
